නුවර නගරයේ දී ජනාධිපති රනිල්ට මෑතකදී “හු” තැබූ ආකාරය!!(VIDEO)
Publisher’s rating: Misleading
The review examined a video circulated as showing people hooting at President Ranil Wickremesinghe during a recent visit to Kandy. It reports that social-media posts used captions implying the footage showed recent public opposition to him, while the footage itself did not match the claim’s time and place. The investigation notes that Wickremesinghe had visited Kandy to pay respects at the Temple of the Tooth and meet monks, but says the circulating clip did not depict that visit. (The article describes his visit as “ජනාධිපතිවරයා මීට දින කිහිපයකට පෙර මහනුවර සංචාරයක නිරත වුයේ දළදා සමිදුන් වැද පුදා ගැනීමට සහ මල්වතු අස්ගිරි ස්වාමින් වහන්සේලා මුනගසිමට යි.”) To check the video, the publisher says it compared the clothing in the social-media footage with videos of Wickremesinghe’s Kandy visit, contacted the President’s Media Division, and inspected frames from the circulating clip. It reports that the Media Division said no such recent incident had happened, and that the footage had circulated online since November 2019. The publisher further identifies the location as near the Ruwanwelisaya in Anuradhapura, not Kandy. (The article states: “සමාජ ජාලාවල විඩියෝවල දැක්වෙන ආකාරයේ සිදුවීමකට ජනාධිපතිවරයා මෑතකදී මුහුණ නොදුන් බවයි.” It also says: “මෙය 2019 නොවැම්බර් මාසයේ සිට අන්තර්ජාලය හරහා හුවමාරුවන වීඩියෝවක් බවයි.”) The review explains that the clip shows people hooting at Wickremesinghe and other United National Party representatives as they attended Gotabaya Rajapaksa’s swearing-in after winning the 2019 presidential election. At the time, Wickremesinghe was prime minister; the event took place at Ruwanwelisaya. Thus, the footage depicts a real incident involving Wickremesinghe, but not a recent incident in Kandy as the post suggested. Fotoğrafın İçişleri Bakanı Süleyman Soylu’nun Yediiklim yayınevi ziyareti sırasında çekildiği iddiası
Publisher’s rating: Yanlış
The claim concerned a photograph of Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu that circulated during discussion of alleged exam-question leaks. It was said to show Soylu visiting Yediiklim Publishing House and was reportedly featured on a promotional poster for the publisher’s Bursa branch. The review instead identifies the pictured occasion as the opening of the 105th Term District Governor Candidates’ Orientation Course. [S1]

The Prime Minister of Canada, Justin Trudeau, lives without security
Publisher’s rating: MISLEADING
The claim concerns Justin Trudeau and a video circulated as evidence that, as prime minister, he lives without security. FACTLY reports that it used reverse image searches of screenshots from the post to find a longer version of the footage on YouTube, uploaded by CBC News. The footage showed Trudeau walking into the Peace Tower in Ottawa, but its timing is crucial: the video was uploaded on October 21, 2015, and its description called Trudeau the “prime minister-designate.” He was sworn in on November 4, 2015. The video therefore predates his becoming prime minister and does not establish how he was protected while in office. The review also addresses the broader claim about his security, rather than relying only on the video’s date. It says the prime minister is guarded by the RCMP’s Prime Minister’s Protective Detail and describes Trudeau as guarded 24/7. On that evidence, the footage does not support the post’s claim that Trudeau lives without security: it depicts him before he became prime minister, while the review says he has a protective detail as prime minister.

President Droupadi Murmu ordered a complete ban on non-vegetarian food and alcohol consumption inside the Rashtrapati Bhavan
Publisher’s rating: FALSE
The claim concerned a purported order by newly installed President Droupadi Murmu to prohibit non-vegetarian food and alcohol inside Rashtrapati Bhavan. FACTLY reports that it searched for news reports confirming such new instructions and found none. It also reports that PIB Fact Check addressed the viral post directly, calling it fake and clarifying that no such changes had been made at the presidential residence. The review gives examples that help distinguish a ban from restrictions on particular occasions. Rashtrapati Bhavan had served both vegetarian and non-vegetarian food at a dinner banquet for then-US President Donald Trump in February 2020. Separately, in May 2020, President Ram Nath Kovind directed efforts to reduce expenditure during ceremonial occasions, including smaller guest lists and reducing menus where possible. FACTLY notes that these measures did not amount to a complete ban on non-vegetarian food. Together, the review’s account of the direct PIB Fact Check response and its cited examples contradict the claim of a complete prohibition. The review concludes that Murmu issued no order banning non-vegetarian food or alcohol consumption inside Rashtrapati Bhavan.

Claim: Different picture spreading that rare picture of eknath shinde
Publisher’s rating: FALSE
The claim concerned a photograph shared as showing Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde in his early years, supposedly working as an auto-rickshaw driver in 1997. The review says the image circulated with a caption identifying Shinde and dates the cited Facebook post to July 27, 2022. It examined whether the person in that particular photograph was Shinde—not whether he had ever worked as an auto driver. The review reports using a Google reverse-image search and finding reports identifying the pictured man as Baba Kamble, founder of the Maharashtra Rickshaw Panchayat. It says those reports described Kamble as confirming that the 1997 photograph showed him, not Shinde. The review also describes a video interview by Mumbai Tak: a reporter interviews Kamble while he drives an auto, and Kamble says the photograph was taken in 1997 and that he is the person pictured. As further support, the review says it found Kamble’s Facebook account sharing another person’s post, which identified the image as belonging to Kamble and warned against sharing it as Shinde’s. On that evidence, the review concludes that the viral attribution was wrong: the photograph was of Baba Kamble, not Eknath Shinde.
שתי ועדות חקירה ממלכתיות בשנה אחת זה דבר שלא קרה עשורים
Publisher’s rating: חצי נכון
The review examines a statement by Likud lawmaker Ofir Akunis about the Bennett–Lapid government establishing two state commissions of inquiry in one year: one concerning the submarines and one concerning the Mount Meron disaster. Akunis said this had not happened for decades. The review’s historical comparison finds that the claim depends on what counts as a government establishing a commission and on which period is meant. The review reports that no state commission was established in Israel from 2009 through 2020, but says that this decade-long gap occurred during Benjamin Netanyahu’s governments, which established none. Earlier examples complicate a broader claim of rarity: between 2006 and 2009, three commissions were established within exactly one year, but the Knesset’s State Control Committee—not the government—established them. In 2000 and 2001, two commissions were established six months apart by different governments. The review also identifies commissions established by the same government within a year in 1994–95, in 1982, and in the 1980s. Thus, the review distinguishes the fact that two commissions were established within a year from the narrower question of whether the same government established both. It concludes that the statement is only partly accurate: the recent Netanyahu-era period had no such commissions, but historical examples show that the pattern was not absent for decades. The review says that four cases between 1971 and 1995 involved two commissions established within a year by the same government and prime minister.
