The claim attributes to Green politician Sarah-Lee Heinrich a sentence saying that Jews and Asians are not human. The review compared that circulating wording with a preserved version of a post Heinrich wrote during a discussion on X, formerly Twitter. It reports that the original post is no longer available there, but an archived copy shows that Heinrich wrote the sentence on November 10, 2016. In that preserved wording, Heinrich said Jews and Asians were “not white people,” followed by uncertainty about Slavs. The circulating version removes the word “white,” changing the meaning of the statement. The review therefore finds that the sentence as quoted in the claim is a misleadingly shortened version of Heinrich’s post, rather than its exact wording. The review also places the post in context: older messages from Heinrich’s teenage years became controversial in 2021, when she was elected co-spokesperson of the Green Youth. Heinrich later apologized for posts she described as partly vulgar and insulting, and said she had been 13 or 14 at the time. The review notes that it is not known whether that apology referred to this particular message; it also reports she was 15 when she posted it.
