The claim concerns potassium chloride, which the Facebook post linked to the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine and to lethal injections used for executions in the United States. The review confirms that potassium chloride is listed as an ingredient in the vaccine and is also used in lethal injections. It explains why that comparison alone is misleading: the risk depends on the dose and how it is administered. For its examination, the review cites official information about the vaccine’s ingredients and describes potassium chloride’s medical use, including as treatment for potassium deficiency and as an additive in medicines and foods. It reports that one vaccine dose contains 0.01 milligrams of potassium chloride. Immunologist Adrian Liston compared that quantity with the potassium in a single tear and explained that the salt helps make an injection solution resemble blood. The review contrasts the vaccine quantity with the much larger amounts it says can cause death: it reports a potentially lethal dose of 75–150 milligrams per kilogram of body weight and says a lethal injection contains about 8,000 milligrams. Its account distinguishes an overdose delivered directly into the bloodstream from the tiny quantity in a vaccine dose; the fact that the same substance appears in both does not establish that the vaccine dose is dangerous.

Publisher’s rating: Immer weniger haltbar.
The claim concerned social-media collages of Markus Söder at vaccination appointments, which some users presented as evidence that he had received several COVID-19 shots. The review examined the specific photographs used in those collages and whether they could depict coronavirus vaccinations. It reports that the Bavarian State Chancellery told dpa on 16 February 2021 that Söder had not received a coronavirus vaccination. It also notes that none of the collage photographs could show a SARS-CoV-2 vaccination: the first EU authorization for a vaccine, Biontech/Pfizer’s, came on 21 December 2020, after every pictured event. The review identifies the images by their subjects and dates. It says Söder was vaccinated against tick-borne disease on 28 May 2020, and against flu on 16 December 2019 and 6 October 2020. Other pictures show a swine-flu vaccination on 21 October 2009, another flu vaccination on 21 November 2018, and a flu shot reported as taking place on 8 November 2010. A seventh image, used in some versions of the collage, is identified through a muenchen.tv video as a flu vaccination on 9 November 2016. Thus, the collage combines appointments for different illnesses across several years; it does not document repeated COVID-19 vaccinations.

"When I took office just three weeks ago this country did not have a plan or enough vaccines"
Publisher’s rating: It's not correct to say the US "did not have a plan" under Donald Trump. The Trump administration secured 400 million doses of vaccine, which was enough for the US to ramp up its vaccination programme faster than many other developed countries.

The claim concerns a Facebook video presented as a memorial to US nurse Tiffany Dover, with a post asserting that she fainted after a televised vaccination, later fell into a coma, and died. The investigation identifies the same video and claim, rather than relying only on general reporting about vaccine rumors. It reports that Dover’s employer, CHI Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga, Tennessee, confirmed to dpa that she continued to work there. The article also notes that she appeared in a local newspaper in January, in a story about a local police chief returning home after a lengthy hospitalization. The source places the rumor against the documented event that prompted it: Dover was vaccinated on December 17, 2020, in a broadcast by a local television station and briefly fainted afterward. It says that this episode drew attention and was then used by vaccine skeptics to promote claims of vaccine harm and false reports of her death. Thus, the brief fainting is not evidence in the article that she died; the employer confirmation and the later newspaper appearance address the death claim directly. The investigation also examined clues in the purported memorial video about its provenance. It reports that the video’s captions are in Portuguese, despite Dover’s family being from the United States, and says those clues weigh against the video having been made by her family. The excerpt does not identify who created the video, so it does not establish its actual creator.
