It traced the post to a Twitter account that shared the video on 28 June 2020; the account profile said its tweets were “for ‘fun and 100% fake’.” To check the video’s context, FACTLY says it ran screenshots through reverse-image search and found reports from Malaysian news websites published in November 2016. It also noted that a logo on a man’s yellow T-shirt was used at the BERSIH 5 rally in Malaysia in 2016. The review therefore identifies the footage as an older video from Malaysia, not an incident in Karachi, and says it was shared with a false narrative.

Auf Facebook wird aktuell ein Video verbreitet, das laut Usern ein Hinweis auf sexuellen Missbrauch von Kindern mitten in U-Bahn-Stationen in Wien sein soll. Darin ist ein verstecktes Kinderzimmer zu sehen, das man durch eine bestimmte Tür in einer U-Bahn-Station erreichen kann. Der «vermutliche KINDER-PEDO-Missbrauchs Raum mitten in Wien auf der U3 U-Bahn Linie», wie es in einem Posting (http://archive.is/9akGb) heißt, soll nur von «Insidern» betreten werden können. Angeblich gebe es Markierungen, um «solche geheimen Räume unter Insidern mit Kindern» zu finden.

Publisher’s rating: Bei dem Raum handelt es sich wohl um ein Kunstprojekt aus dem Jahr 2012. Laut Wiener Linien existiert das damals eingerichtete Kinderzimmer bereits seit 2014 nicht mehr. Mittlerweile ist die Räumlichkeit wieder ein normaler Betriebsraum, der nur von Personal betreten werden kann. The Facebook post presents a former French soldier’s alleged legal troubles after he defended his family from five attackers as a true story, illustrated by a soldier pictured with a woman and child. The investigation traces the story to two texts published consecutively on 16 October 2016 by Philippe Le Routier on the French site Résistance républicaine. Le Routier described himself as a former serviceman, but the account of a former legionnaire facing prosecution supplies no date, place, names or other details that would authenticate the alleged incident.
