How the answers frame Zoox
This snapshot, measured on 2026-09-29, covers 250 benchmark questions put to ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity and Grok, or 1,250 answers in total. Zoox was named in 13 of them. By provider: Grok 5, Gemini 4, Claude 2, Perplexity 2, ChatGPT 0.
Visibility sat almost entirely in two question intents: innovation at 9% and leadership at 5%. It was 0% on reliability, trust, value, service, safety, employer, sustainability, avoid, driver pay, app experience and subscriptions. The only credit recorded for Zoox was tagged "Not Substantive".
In the Claude answer we were given, Zoox came last in a list on self-driving technology, after Waymo, Baidu, WeRide and Tesla. Claude called Zoox "another player with a smaller fleet" and said its robotaxis in Las Vegas and San Francisco carried passengers in only about 50 vehicles. The Grok answer named Zoox among the brands in a question about challengers to the top ride-hailing players. The excerpt we hold cuts off before any Zoox passage, so we cannot say how Grok described it.
Within the sector, Zoox has the lowest presence of the twelve brands tracked. Uber appeared in 1,069 of 1,250 answers, Lyft in 636 and Waymo in 45.
**Zoox** is another player with a smaller fleet.
What the press is saying
PeakMetrics' news index logged 3,340 mentions of Zoox in the last 30 days, 237 of them with the brand in the headline. That is more coverage than Grubhub (2,010), DiDi (1,993) or Deliveroo (1,326) had in the same index.
The recent headlines are about robotaxi expansion. Forbes and TechCrunch covered a Zoox robotaxi service to the Las Vegas airport. Two syndicated pieces grouped Amazon's Zoox with Alphabet's Waymo as both expand robotaxi services to more US cities.
The gap
The press treats Zoox as a company in motion, with new service areas and an airport route. The AI answers barely register it. Where it appears, it sits at the bottom of a self-driving list and is defined by a small fleet.
Waymo's news count (9,334) is nearly three times Zoox's, but its answer presence (45) is also small next to Uber's. So heavy coverage does not by itself produce a place in the answers. For Zoox, the Las Vegas airport and multi-city expansion stories did not appear in the answers we were given. The gap is between a busy news cycle and a near-absent AI profile on everything outside autonomy.
What to watch
This is a single snapshot of live answers, which vary between runs, so treat these figures as a starting point rather than a ranking.
A comms team would note three things. Zoox's visibility depends on autonomy questions, and nearly all of it comes from the innovation and leadership intents. The one detailed description we hold centers on fleet size. And ChatGPT did not name Zoox in any of its 250 answers.
Worth tracking in later runs: whether expansion coverage such as the Las Vegas airport service starts to show up in the answers, and which sources the assistants cite when they do describe Zoox.
