How the answers frame Novo Nordisk
This snapshot (measured 2026-09-29) covers 250 benchmark questions across ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity and Grok, none of which named a brand. That is 1,250 answers, and Novo Nordisk was named in 110 of them. Grok named it most often (34 of 250 answers). Claude named it least (17 of 250).
Most of those mentions are list entries. In the eight stored answers we were given, Novo Nordisk sits alongside Pfizer, Merck, AbbVie, Eli Lilly and others in answers on revenue, phase 3 trial failures and workplace culture. Its credited themes are thin: "Not Substantive" (5 mentions) and "Price & Value" (2 mentions).
Price and value is where the answers say something specific. Perplexity, asked about voluntary insulin list-price cuts, gave Novo Nordisk product-level detail. Asked who makes the cheapest insulin, Perplexity pointed to Novo Nordisk's human insulin sold as ReliOn at Walmart for about $25 per vial.
One ChatGPT answer went further on reputation. Asked which pharmaceutical companies are the most trusted, it described Novo Nordisk as one of the strongest-trusted pharma brands in the U.S., citing Axios/Harris Poll coverage. In another ChatGPT answer, on criticized price increases for older medicines, Novo Nordisk appeared among the insulin makers.
By question intent, visibility was highest on employer questions (21%) and leadership questions (19%). It was lowest on service (0%) and reliability (3%). Visibility on trust questions was 9% and on safety questions 5%.
…recent public-reputation surveys suggest Novo Nordisk is currently one of the strongest-trusted pharmaceutical brands in the U.S.
What the press is saying
PeakMetrics' news index shows 10,698 mentions of Novo Nordisk over the last 30 days, with the brand in the headline of 1,852 of them. The recent headlines are corporate and growth stories. They cover a Saudi Arabia "Live Lighter" campaign, the CEO saying the company is open to a direct NYSE listing, and a trial in which semaglutide cut obesity rates in young children. Others report pressure to outline growth beyond Wegovy and a rebrand to "Novo".
Among the 15 companies in this sector set, Novo Nordisk's news volume sits mid-table. Merck (20,731), Amgen (20,317) and Eli Lilly (19,681) all have far more.
…cut list prices for several products, including NovoLog by 75% and Levemir and Novolin by 65%.
The gap
The press story is about obesity treatment, growth strategy, listing plans and a name change. In the sampled answers, Novo Nordisk instead shows up around insulin list prices, a low-cost vial, a trust poll and general pharma lists. The sampled answers do not carry the headline themes.
Press volume also does not translate into answer volume. Novo Nordisk ranks ninth of 15 on answer appearances in this snapshot. Amgen has far more news mentions than Novo Nordisk but fewer answer appearances (69 versus 110). J&J has more of both. Coverage and AI visibility are separate measures.
What to watch
For a comms team, the takeaway from this snapshot is that the assistants used Novo Nordisk mainly to illustrate insulin pricing and, in one answer, public trust. Those are the frames to monitor, alongside where the company is absent or generic: service and reliability questions, and phase 3 answers where it is grouped with other drugmakers.
The rebrand to "Novo" is worth tracking in future runs to see whether answers use the new name. This is a single snapshot of live answers, which vary between runs, so treat it as a baseline rather than a trend. The eight stored answers are a sample of the 110 appearances.
