The review examines a Facebook post from November 20, 2021, that paired the caption in the claim with four photos. It reports that one photo showed Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen on a hospital bed and that the post suggested he had died. The review says the post also drew mixed reactions and was shared by Khmer-speaking users. To check the images, the publisher says it ran a Google reverse-image search and reviewed Hun Sen’s recent official Facebook posts. It traced the hospital-bed photo to a Tea Banh official Facebook post from August 19, 2019. According to the review, that earlier post showed Tea Banh and other Ministry of Defense leaders visiting Bou Thong, who was being treated at Calmette Hospital in Phnom Penh—not Hun Sen. The review also cites Hun Sen’s official Facebook post about attending the ASEAN-China Special Summit on November 22, 2021, and concludes that the hospital-bed image had been edited. These findings address the post’s implication that the photo showed Hun Sen after his death: the image was traced to a visit to another person, while the review reports Hun Sen’s summit activity two days after the Facebook post.

Moshe Arbel, an MK from Shas, said that “the whole event” around the Western Wall arrangement was funded with “millions, tens of millions” by the New Israel Fund. The arrangement would allow Reform and Conservative Jews to pray in a separate area at the Wall. The review notes that Arbel did not specify a time period, which organizations or activities he meant, or whether the money was intended for this particular campaign. To check the claim, the review examined the Fund’s financial reports from 2010 through 2019, converted reported dollar amounts using each year’s average exchange rate, and considered organizations named in a report Arbel had cited. Those organizations included the Reform movement, Women of the Wall, the Jacob Herzog Center and Israel Hofsheet, among others. The review cautions that they pursue varied activities and that some have only a limited connection to this specific dispute. In 2019, the organizations listed in the report received about $427,000, or 1.5 million shekels, from the Fund; the review also notes that the Reform movement’s work covers many subjects beyond the Wall. Across 2010–2019, the organizations in the review’s examination received just under 27 million shekels in total. That decade-long aggregate makes a “tens of millions” figure possible when the time period is left open. But the records do not establish that the full amount was spent on the Western Wall campaign: the review says it could not determine what share went to petitions or demonstrations about the prayer arrangement. Its conclusion is therefore that the claim needs context, not that 27 million shekels was earmarked for the dispute.
