Ada Colau ha permitido que Tsunami Democratic ponga anuncios en las marquesinas de Barcelona

Publisher’s rating: Falso

The review examines the allegation that Barcelona mayor Ada Colau had allowed Tsunami Democràtic to place advertisements on city bus-stop shelters. The posters promoted a demonstration at Camp Nou on 18 December, coinciding with the Barça–Real Madrid match, and were seen at locations including Plaça Catalunya and Passeig de Sant Joan. The review notes that the viral post’s own accompanying text described the company’s account, which did not support the headline’s allegation of permission. Clear Channel, the company managing the advertising displays, told the review that the posters resulted from a specific act of vandalism: someone forced open the displays overnight from Sunday to Monday and altered their contents. The company said it removed the improperly placed posters after detecting them and restored the advertising campaigns that had been there before. It also described the incidents as isolated and said it was working on technical measures to reduce misuse. The review also reports that Barcelona city officials said the posters had appeared at six points, including bus-stop shelters and municipal advertising supports, without being contracted, and that they had been removed. Together, these accounts distinguish unauthorized tampering with advertising displays from an action permitted by the mayor.

A girl died for fighting against the CAB in Assam.

Publisher’s rating: FALSE

The claim attached to the photo was that the girl pictured had died fighting against the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2019, in Assam. FACTLY identifies the woman as Dirija Phukon and says she was alive, directly contradicting the claim that she died in the protest context. The review also says Phukon posted a message asking people not to spread rumours about her death. To check the photo and the claim, FACTLY reports finding a Facebook profile under Phukon’s name and says the profile showed she was the person in the photo. It also cites a Facebook comment and a separate post by a user called Happy Saikia, who identified Phukon as her sister and said she was fine. FACTLY says it tried to contact Phukon, but does not report receiving a response. The evidence described in the review therefore rests on the woman’s own reported denial and corroboration from someone identifying herself as her sister, alongside the profile-photo identification.
