Publisher’s rating: Falso

The claim concerned a social-media post about a supposed Argentine doctor who had discovered a coronavirus vaccine and said it was being administered in Spain as a precaution. Newtral reports that it checked the image accompanying the post using reverse-image search. The image showed Argentine actor Ramiro Blas, who played doctor Carlos Sandoval Castro in the series *Vis a Vis*—not a doctor named Gerardo Dovakin. The article also states that, at the time of its investigation, no vaccine against COVID-19 existed. Por ende, no es el doctor ‘Gerardo Dovakin’”] The post also claimed that the supposed doctor was being ignored by national media because he had participated in the autopsy of prosecutor Alberto Nisman. Newtral says that claim was false too: it reports that Argentina’s Federal Criminal and Correctional Prosecutor’s Office No. 3, which was investigating Nisman’s death, confirmed through the fact-checking organization Chequeado that Gerardo Dovakin did not appear in the case. The article provides context for the Nisman reference: it says he died in Buenos Aires on January 18, 2015, and that in June 2018 Argentina’s courts confirmed his death was a homicide, while the perpetrators had not been determined and the investigation continued. These details do not identify Dovakin as a participant; the prosecutor’s office’s reported confirmation directly addresses that part of the post.
