The claim concerned a screenshot of search results that appeared to show reports that seven children had died during a mass coronavirus vaccination in Senegal. The review explains that the reports existed, but were false and later corrected. It says Senegalese authorities rejected the claims and confirmed that nobody had died in the alleged incident from a purported coronavirus vaccine. The review traces the rumor to a video of a police operation in Dalifort, a district of Dakar. An earlier version, shared with Wolof commentary, described police arresting people who had posed as health-ministry representatives and said they intended to vaccinate children. The fatality allegation appeared only in a later version with French commentary: “Erst darin wurde fälschlicherweise behauptet, es seien sieben Kinder im Zuge einer Impfung gegen das Coronavirus gestorben.” The review says weblyf.com and ezone57.com repeated the false claim in early April, then changed their articles. It also reports that, according to an AFP fact-check, a man was arrested in Dalifort on March 26 for selling cosmetic products; he had presented himself as a health-ministry representative. This provides a documented origin for the video while distinguishing that police incident from the alleged deaths.

Government of India providing Rupees 1.5 Lakh per COVID-19 patient to every municipality

Publisher’s rating: FALSE

The claim under review was that the Government of India would provide ₹1.5 lakh for each COVID-19 patient to every municipality. FACTLY reports that it searched Google using keywords describing that specific proposed payment and found no information indicating that the central government had such a scheme. It also reports finding a clarification from the Press Information Bureau (PIB) on the same subject. According to FACTLY, PIB clarified in a tweet that the Government of India had made no announcement to provide ₹1.5 lakh per COVID-19 patient to every municipality. The review’s conclusion rests on that direct denial of the alleged announcement, alongside the absence of information about the scheme in the search it describes. It concludes that no such government announcement existed and labels the social-media claim false.
