BBC Reality CheckElections & voting

You can change your vote in "most states"

Publisher’s rating: This is not correct. Only in a few states can you change your vote after you've submitted a postal ballot.

The review addresses Donald Trump’s statement that voters can change their vote in “most states.” It distinguishes changing a vote after returning a postal ballot from voting in person after receiving a postal ballot that has not been returned. That distinction matters because the latter option does not establish that a submitted vote can be changed. [S1: “Most states will allow you to vote in person if you've been sent a postal vote but haven't returned it.”] For a ballot that has already been submitted, the review says the option to cancel it exists in only a handful of states, naming Michigan, Connecticut, Minnesota, New York and Wisconsin. It says voters in those states can then request another postal ballot or vote in person. This evidence directly contradicts the claim’s “most states” wording for submitted ballots. [S1: “There are just a handful of states - including Michigan, Connecticut, Minnesota, New York and Wisconsin - where your postal vote can be cancelled after it has been submitted. In these states, you can then either request a new postal ballot or vote in person.”]

Georgian Dream”.

Myth DetectorElections & voting

the day of parliamentary election in Georgia, a Facebook user Tea Pirtskhalava published a photo of Condoleezza Rice, the former Secretary of State of the United States. On the picture, Rice is wearing a shirt that displays number 41, while the caption says “It’s My Team. Georgian Dream”. Pirtskhalava herself captioned the photo “Thunder-Photo from Washington”.

Publisher’s rating: The disseminated post is a photomanipulation. In fact, the photo was taken in 2012 within a National Football League (NFL) campaign “It’s my team”. Rice’s shirt actually displays number 16, not 41, and she supports Cleveland Browns, not the Georgian Dream.
