Video of ‘ABP News’ supporting Kejriwal’s AAP in upcoming Gujarat elections

Publisher’s rating: FALSE

The claim concerned a video presented as ABP News coverage of Arvind Kejriwal’s Gujarat rally, supposedly showing support for AAP and highlighting BJP government failures. FACTLY says it located an ABP News YouTube video uploaded on 16 October 2022, titled “What is the truth of Arvind Kejriwal’s ‘IB report’ claim? Watch this Ground report | Gujarat Election”. The review describes that original as checking Kejriwal’s claim about an IB report, rather than supporting it. [S1: “The Original video was uploaded on 16 October 2022 by ‘ABP News’ YouTube channel. Original video doesn’t support the Kejriwal’s ‘IB Report’ claim but checks it.”; S1: “We, then compared both the videos”] The review’s comparison found that only the anchor’s introduction was shared: it says the first 33 seconds of the viral clip came from the original, while the narration, audio, visuals and overlaid text changed afterward. FACTLY also reports that the narrator’s voice differed between the two videos. [S1: “The first 33 seconds in the viral video is taken from the ‘ABP News’ Original video (0:11 to 0:56). But when the narration begins, audio, visuals and overlaid text changed completely.”; S1: “the narrator’s voice is entirely different in both the videos.”] The review further says the original included views from AAP, BJP and Congress supporters, whereas the viral edit showed only AAP supporters. These reported differences indicate that the purported clip was edited to present a different account from the original report. [S1: “in the original video, one can see people supporting AAP, BJP, and Congress. While the fake video shows only the opinions of AAP supporters.”; S1: “this news clipping shared in the name of ‘ABP News’ is fabricated.”]

Deze foto’s tonen verkiezingsrally’s van Lula en Bolsonaro.

Publisher’s rating: De bewering is misleidend.

Image showing results of opinion polls by India TV for upcoming 2022 Gujarat assembly elections which predicts AAP could win 98 out of 182 seats

Publisher’s rating: FALSE

The claim concerned an image circulating on social media that purported to show India TV polling for the upcoming 2022 Gujarat Assembly election, with AAP projected to win 98 of 182 seats. FACTLY compared that image’s figures with the results of an India TV survey it identified as “Desh ki Awaz,” conducted in July 2022. The reported survey numbers were BJP 108 seats, Congress 55, AAP 16 and others 3—not the viral image’s projection for AAP. To check whether India TV had published a later poll that could account for the graphic, FACTLY says it searched online using relevant keywords. It reports finding an India TV YouTube video uploaded on 30 July 2022 that presented “Desh ki Awaaz” results, and says it found no other India TV survey results for the Gujarat election published afterward. On the evidence described in the review, the image’s India TV branding does not authenticate its contents: the claimed projection conflicts with the survey results FACTLY located, and the review characterizes the infographic as fabricated.
