A social media post offering work-from-home Dona Pattal packing jobs with a salary of Rs. 30,000
Publisher’s rating: FALSE
The post advertised work-from-home Dona Pattal packing jobs for Rs. 30,000 per month and directed interested people to a mobile number shown in a video of plastic-plate manufacturing. FACTLY contacted that number to ask about the offer. The person said he ran a Dona Pattal packing enterprise in Jaipur and provided equipment for people to make the plates at home. He also asked applicants to pay Rs. 650 in advance, promising to refund Rs. 600 after a work license was approved. When FACTLY asked for the business’s website and registration details, the person sent manufacturing videos, photographs of an Aadhaar card and warehouse images, but did not provide the requested company information. The Aadhaar-card details named Vinod Sharma and gave Sant Ravidas Nagar in Uttar Pradesh as his location. FACTLY reports that a reverse-image search found the warehouse photographs depicted unrelated warehouses in the United States. This evidence raised doubts about the offer’s stated business and the supporting material supplied by its promoter; the excerpt does not describe an independent inspection of the alleged Jaipur operation. The review also places the offer alongside earlier work-from-home pen-packing posts that FACTLY says it had debunked. It notes that Nataraj had issued a clarification calling similar posts about its pen-packing jobs fraudulent. That earlier episode is presented as context, while the investigation of this specific Dona Pattal offer rests on the contact person’s claims, the advance-payment request, the absence of supplied company registration information, and the reverse-image-search findings.
The video presents Signa founder René Benko, OMV chief executive Alfred Stern and ORF moderator Susanne Schnabl as promoting an investment. The investigation traced each clip to earlier footage and compared what was said in the circulating video with the original material. It found that the source recordings did not contain the investment pitch attributed to the three people. Schnabl’s footage came from an interview with Burgenland governor Doskozil on the ORF programme “Report” on 25 April 2023. The original sequence contained no discussion of investment opportunities, and the programme introduction had been altered; Schnabl confirmed this to dpa. Stern’s clip came from an interview with ÖBAG, where he discussed the oil company’s sustainability, not the claimed fourfold increase in oil and gas production. OMV also said Stern had not made the statements heard in the clip and that it had not authorized the videos’ use. Benko’s footage was traced to a Signa Trendtalk from October 2018. In that original, he discussed the real-estate market rather than the promoted investment. The investigation reports that the voices in all three excerpts had been changed. Because the fabricated audio sounded similar to the speakers’ voices, it considered AI a likely means of producing the altered audio—not a confirmed method.

“Pelosi anuncia ley urgente” para combatir la inflación.
Publisher’s rating: Falso
The claim concerns a Facebook video published on July 26, 2023, which presented Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer as announcing an urgent new law to fight inflation. The review reports that elDetector traced the footage to a recording from September 13, 2022, rather than a new announcement in July 2023. In that earlier recording, Pelosi and Schumer spoke about the Inflation Reduction Act, which the review says President Joe Biden had signed on August 16, 2022. To identify the footage, elDetector searched Google’s video results using English keywords for Pelosi, Schumer and the inflation law. It compared the circulating clip with the original recording, noting that the politicians’ clothing matched, while the circulating version added a split-screen layout and the caption “Pelosi anuncia ley urgente,” neither of which appeared in the original. The review also says searches in Spanish and English for a congressional inflation package returned information from the prior year, and a search of the White House press room found references to the law signed in 2022, not evidence of a new measure. The review adds that the clip’s narration misidentified Schumer as “Mark Schumer” and described Pelosi as part of the congressional leadership. It reports that Pelosi’s final term as House speaker ended in January 2023, though she remained a representative. Taken together, the source’s account identifies the video as older footage about an already enacted law, repackaged with misleading narration and presentation—not a July 2023 announcement.

The claim concerned a TikTok clip circulating from mid-July that said people receiving Bürgergeld could obtain a one-time €300 payment from their job centers during hot weather. The clip suggested the money could pay for items such as fans or visits to outdoor swimming pools. The investigation asked whether that specific payment existed, rather than whether recipients could receive other kinds of support. The decisive evidence came from the Federal Employment Agency, which dpa contacted because job centers administer Bürgergeld and involve both local employment agencies and municipalities. An agency spokesperson said there were no payments tied to outdoor temperature. The review also found no information about the alleged heat bonus in the Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs’ online overview of Bürgergeld. The job center shown in the clip, Rhein-Kreis Neuss, separately confirmed there was no such bonus. The claim may have sounded plausible in light of changes to Bürgergeld that took effect on 1 July 2023, but those changes concerned employment and training support. The review described a €150 monthly Weiterbildungsgeld for qualifying training leading to a professional qualification, as well as increased earnings allowances. It noted that the reform did not provide for a heat bonus.

The claim concerns a Facebook post promising Dirk van den Broek vouchers to people who guessed the number of ducks. The review says the post appeared on a page called “Dirk van den Broek Fans” and described vouchers worth €500 as prizes. It reports that the supermarket’s spokesperson confirmed both that the giveaway and the page were not affiliated with the chain. The review compared the page and post with Dirk’s official Facebook presence. It noted that the “Fans” page had only nine likes, lacked Facebook’s verification badge, and had just one post, published on the day the page was created. By contrast, the review says the official page was verified, had more than 203,000 likes, and did not feature the duck contest. The article also points out that the post referred to “Oud Beijland,” while the town is Oud-Beijerland, where a Dirk store had reopened after renovation that July. The review further describes inconsistencies within the post: it first promised a voucher but later referred to “merchandise.” It reports that dpa received no message from the page, so the article does not establish what happened to people who responded to this particular post. As context, it says that in similar past scams, participants were asked to share the contest and follow a link to another site, where scammers might try to sell something or collect personal information. The evidence presented supports the conclusion that this was not an authentic Dirk giveaway, while the proposed phishing motive is described as probable rather than confirmed for this specific page.
