Supreme Court of India held that it is mandatory to have parental consent for love or court marriages

Publisher’s rating: FALSE

The claim concerns an alleged Supreme Court of India verdict making parental approval compulsory for love or court marriages. FACTLY’s review says its keyword search found no such verdict. It also describes the Court’s position as consistently recognizing that parental consent is not legally required for these marriages, grounding that account in the constitutional right to freedom of marriage under Article 21. The review supports its conclusion with examples from three cases. It says that *Shafin Jahan v. Asokan K. M. & Ors.* (2018) treated the right to marry a person of one’s choice as part of the Article 21 right to life and personal liberty. In *Laxmibai Chandaragi v. State of Karnataka* (2020), it says, the Court held that family, community, or clan consent is unnecessary when two adults agree to marry. The review also refers to *Justice K.S. Puttaswamy v. Union of India*, describing the Court’s recognition of individual autonomy in family and marriage matters. The review identifies a possible source of confusion: a Gujarat government proposal recommended parental approval for love and court marriages as part of changes to the state’s Freedom of Religion Amendment Act, 2021. But FACTLY distinguishes that proposal from a Supreme Court ruling: it says the Gujarat High Court stayed certain contentious provisions and that the challenge to its order was pending in the Supreme Court. The proposal therefore does not establish that the Supreme Court issued the claimed verdict.

Three French paramilitary women being mass molested by migrants in a Paris metro underpass

Publisher’s rating: Misleading

The claim concerns a video said to show three French paramilitary women being mass molested by migrants in a Paris metro underpass. The review investigated that specific viral video, describing the social-media post and its allegation that the women were serving in the French paramilitary. Its investigation concluded that the footage was not a real attack but a staged performance. The post’s wording is not the same as the description quoted in a journalist’s debunking tweet: that tweet characterized the video as showing Israeli girls and Arab boys. The review nevertheless identifies both descriptions as referring to the same viral video. The review says reverse-image and keyword searches led investigators to a Turkish article and to a tweet by BBC journalist Shayan Sardarizadeh. The tweet identified the footage as a promotional video posted by Campus Univers Cascades (CUC), a French company that trains stunt performers. The review also reports that CUC director Lucas Dollfus confirmed the footage was produced with the school’s stunt students as a choreographed training exercise on the theme of a street fight, with everything prepared in advance. This provenance and direct confirmation support the conclusion that the video depicts a staged scene, not the incident alleged in the post.

Three French paramilitary women being mass molested by migrants in a Paris metro underpass !!

Publisher’s rating: Misleading

The claim concerns a video said to show three French paramilitary women being molested by migrants in a Paris metro underpass. The review identifies the circulating post and its accompanying description, then investigates whether the footage shows a real incident. It reports using reverse-image and keyword searches, which led to a Turkish article questioning the video's authenticity; it also cites a debunk by BBC-verified journalist Shayan Sardarizadeh, who identified the footage as a promotional video by a French stunt-training company. The central verification came from the company itself. Fact Crescendo says it contacted Campus Univers Cascades (CUC) director Lucas Dollfus. Dollfus confirmed that the video was made with the school's stunt students as a training exercise themed around a street fight, and described it as a prepared, choreographed performance rather than an actual attack. The review therefore concludes that the footage was staged, not evidence of the claimed molestation in a Paris underpass. The review also notes a mismatch in how the same video was framed online: Sardarizadeh’s post described a claim that it showed Israeli girls fighting Arab boys, while the post examined by the review described French paramilitary women and migrants. The investigation nevertheless identifies both as claims about the same viral video, and relies on the producer's confirmation of its staged origin to address what the footage depicts.
