How the answers frame Wiz
This is a snapshot from 29 September 2026: 250 benchmark questions put to ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity and Grok, for 1,250 answers in total. None of the questions named a brand. Wiz was named in 43 of those answers. By assistant: Grok 15, ChatGPT 9, Gemini 9, Claude 6, Perplexity 4, each out of 250. Visibility was highest on leadership (14%) and innovation (11%). It was near zero on reliability, incident transparency, detection effectiveness and avoiding vendors. The credits attached to Wiz were narrow: Financial Performance and Price & Value, one each.
The two stored answers show both contexts. In Claude's answer to a question about fast-growing cybersecurity companies, Wiz sat in an 'Established Companies' list beside SentinelOne and Zscaler. The answer described it as founded in 2020 and acquired for $32 billion by 2025, a 'hypergrowth trajectory'. In Grok's answer on whether top-rated cloud security platforms are worth the price for a 40-person startup, Wiz was grouped with Prisma Cloud, CrowdStrike Falcon Cloud and Tenable as an 'enterprise leader'. The answer said full versions of these platforms are 'often overkill' at that size and pointed to cheaper options, including Microsoft Defender for Cloud and Google Security Command Center.
Wiz, founded in 2020, was acquired for $32 billion by 2025, demonstrating a hypergrowth trajectory and representing the premium that technology giants place on cloud security capabilities.
What the press is saying
PeakMetrics' news index recorded 932 Wiz mentions in the last 30 days, 225 with the brand in the headline. The recent headlines fall into two groups. One is partner-program news: TENEX.AI joining the Wiz Partner Alliance Managed Service Provider Program, Foresite launching managed services for Wiz, and JFrog partnering with Wiz on AI-era threats. The other is regulatory: a headline about Google seeing an EU decision on the Wiz takeover published.
The gap
Press volume for Wiz is close to that of Mandiant (904 mentions) and well below Microsoft Security (21,221) or Cisco (22,216). Its answer count matches Mandiant's exactly at 43, against 520 for Microsoft Security and 442 for CrowdStrike. So Wiz's place in these answers is modest, and it is not far out of line with its news volume.
The difference is in the subject matter. The press headlines are about channel partners and deal review. The sampled answers describe Wiz through the size of its acquisition and through cost relative to startup budgets. Neither of the two sampled answers used the partner-program storyline. Coverage that is heavy on partnership announcements did not, in these examples, become the way the assistants described the company.
What to watch
A comms team would note two things from this snapshot. First, the growth and acquisition-value framing came from an answer to a broad growth question, while the pricing framing came from an answer to a cost question about small companies. Both point to where the brand shows up, and neither is a settled position. Second, Wiz was nearly absent from the trust, reliability, incident transparency and detection effectiveness questions, which is where much of the category's buyer-facing debate sits.
These are live answers that vary between runs. The stored answers are a sample of the 43 appearances, so they show framing examples, not the full pattern. Repeating the benchmark questions would show whether the growth and price framing holds and whether partner-program news begins to appear in the answers.
