How the answers frame Wise
This is a snapshot from 2026-09-29: 250 benchmark questions put to ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity and Grok, none naming a brand. Wise was named in 153 of 1,250 answers. By provider, that was 53 of 250 for Grok, 29 for ChatGPT, 27 for Gemini, 25 for Claude and 19 for Perplexity. Within the Fintech & Payments peer set, PayPal (532 answers) and Block (508) were named far more often.
The pattern by question type is clear. Visibility was highest on money-movement speed (25%) and value (22%). It was lowest on account protection (4%), innovation (5%), sustainability (6%), avoid-style questions (6%) and reliability (8%). Among the credit labels attached to Wise, Price & Value came up most often, with Safety & Compliance, Reliability & Operations and Financial Performance each appearing once. Those counts are small.
In the sampled answers, Wise mostly appears in transfer-to-Mexico questions. Claude's answer to the Mexico app question said "Wise is noted as best for exchange rate" and put Remitly ahead on low fees. ChatGPT and Perplexity both quoted specific fees for a $1,000 transfer. Wise also appeared in lists on other topics. Claude's answer on employers included it in a list of companies hiring. Gemini's answer on leadership credited its founders. Perplexity's answer on two-factor authentication listed it among providers with authenticator-app options. Grok grouped it with Revolut for fast in-app card freezing.
One ChatGPT answer, on which fintech has grown without major scandals, showed its working and concluded: "Wise seems the safest bet among major fintechs". The same answer said it could not access the web at that point and was relying on gathered sources.

What the press is saying
PeakMetrics' news index logged 4,797 mentions of Wise over the last 30 days, 375 of them with the brand in the headline. The recent headlines shown are dominated by law-firm notices about a class action on behalf of Wise Group plc investors. One notice refers to securities acquired between May 11, 2026 and July 23, 2026. The same notices are republished across several local wire-style sites.
One of the five recent headlines is about Wise Up PR, a boutique PR agency, and not the company. Any read of Wise's news volume should allow for that kind of name overlap.

The gap
The press story and the AI story are about different things. Recent coverage centres on an investor lawsuit. The answers in the sample centre on price, exchange rates and transfer speed, with no mention of the lawsuit in the 12 stored answers we can read. That is a limit of this sample, not proof of absence across all 153 appearances.
Volume does not line up either. Wise's 30-day news count (4,797) is close to Revolut's (4,397) and SoFi's (5,015), and those brands were named in 205 and 155 answers respectively. Coinbase has news volume of 28,217 and was named in only 75 answers. Press attention and AI visibility move separately, which is why both need measuring.

What to watch
For a Wise comms team, the takeaway is where the brand is and is not present. It shows up on cost and speed questions, where its own product facts are being quoted back. It is thin on account protection, reliability and innovation questions. Those are also the topics a securities dispute is most likely to raise with stakeholders.
Check which sources sit behind the fee and safety claims in the answers. Several of the sampled answers pull in third-party comparison and review pages. Watch whether the class-action coverage starts to appear in answers to trust and safety questions. Live answers vary between runs, so treat this as one reading and repeat it before drawing conclusions.
