How the answers frame SentinelOne
This snapshot was measured on 2026-09-29. It covers 250 benchmark questions that never named a brand, put to ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity and Grok, for 1,250 answers in total. SentinelOne was named in 201 of them. Grok named it most often (69 of 250) and Perplexity least (19 of 250). Gemini named it in 45, Claude in 37 and ChatGPT in 31.
The dominant role is a name on a shortlist. In the 12 stored answers that mention it, SentinelOne usually sits beside CrowdStrike, Palo Alto Networks and Microsoft Security. When asked about innovation, Perplexity's answer listed it among the vendors that stand out and described it as differentiating on AI-driven endpoint detection and automated response. Grok's answer on analyst leader placements grouped it with Palo Alto Networks, CrowdStrike and Microsoft. Grok's answer on innovation put it second, after CrowdStrike.
It is often listed rather than led with. In Claude's answer on the most trusted vendors, SentinelOne came last in a list of companies to watch, and the answer's specialization breakdown assigned endpoint detection to CrowdStrike. Perplexity's detection-accuracy answer declined to rank at all and grouped SentinelOne with CrowdStrike and Microsoft Defender as frequently compared options.
Visibility varies by question type. Measured across all questions, SentinelOne's visibility was highest on leadership (26%), innovation (25%) and detection effectiveness (24%). It was lowest on safety (3%), on questions about vendors to avoid (3%) and on incident transparency (7%). The tags for what the answers credited it for were mostly "Not Substantive" (5), with single tags for Sustainability & Ethics and Financial Performance, so few answers attached a specific credit to the brand.
Two answers carried more specific claims. Claude's fast-growth answer cited Q1 2024 revenue growth figures and said SentinelOne tops the list of fastest-growing cybersecurity companies. Gemini's layoffs answer reported a May 2026 workforce reduction and the stated reasons for it.
Differentiates with AI-driven endpoint detection and automated response.
What the press is saying
The PeakMetrics news index shows 4,400 mentions of SentinelOne in the last 30 days, 423 of them with the brand in the headline. Recent headlines fall into two groups. One is product news: SentinelOne expanding its Wayfinder Frontier AI services with OpenAI Daybreak models, syndicated across several outlets. The other is investor coverage: a CFO share sale, a piece asking where the stock will be in three years, and a piece on what the market is weighing.
Against peers, that is mid-table coverage. Cisco (22,216 mentions), Microsoft Security (21,221), CrowdStrike (15,010) and Palo Alto Networks (14,397) all sit well above it. Zscaler, Okta and Cloudflare also have more news volume.
Other leading cybersecurity companies to watch in 2026 include CrowdStrike, Fortinet, Cisco, Check Point, IBM Security, Microsoft Security, Trellix, Sophos, and SentinelOne.
The gap
The press story is about the company as a stock and about a new AI services offering. The assistants tell a category story, in which SentinelOne is one of several endpoint names cited for AI-driven detection, innovation and analyst placement. Only the AI services news fits that frame, and none of the stored answers mention the Wayfinder announcement.
Volume does not track visibility here. SentinelOne was named in more answers (201) than Zscaler (151), Okta (131) and Cloudflare (110), although each of those has more press coverage. Check Point has similar visibility (186) on lower news volume (3,533). Press attention and AI visibility are separate measures, and this snapshot shows them moving independently.
The layoff story appears only in an answer to a question about layoffs. Where the assistants discuss leadership, innovation or detection, the answers stored here do not raise it.
In May 2026, SentinelOne announced it was laying off 8% of its workforce (approximately 230–240 employees).
What to watch
A comms team would see three things in this snapshot. First, the brand is present in category shortlists but seldom the lead example, so the question is what the assistants would need to cite to place it first. The answers lean heavily on Gartner Magic Quadrant and Forrester references, and those are the sources they cite. Second, visibility is thin on safety, incident transparency and "avoid" questions. That leaves those topics to whatever sources the assistants pick up. Third, a few specific claims, such as the dated growth figures in Claude's answer, are in circulation and worth checking against current facts.
This is a single run of live answers. Assistants vary between runs, and these figures are a snapshot, not a ranking or a trend. The stored answers are a sample of the 201 that named SentinelOne.
