How the answers frame Enbridge
In this snapshot of 250 benchmark questions across five assistants (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, Grok), measured 2026-09-29, Enbridge was named in 42 of 1,250 answers. Grok named it 11 times, Claude and Gemini 9 each, Perplexity 7 and ChatGPT 6. By question intent, visibility was highest on investment returns (17%) and leadership (9%). It was 0% on reliability, value, service, avoid and clean energy options.
In the sampled answers, Enbridge mostly appears as one name in a list. Claude's answer on a $10,000 long-term energy stock purchase grouped it with Brookfield Renewable, ConocoPhillips, Chevron and NextEra Energy for financial strength and durability. Claude's answer on who leads the clean transition repeated that framing. Gemini's answer on credit ratings placed it alongside ExxonMobil, Shell and NextEra Energy. The credited-for tags were thin: Not Substantive (4), Financial Performance (2), Safety & Compliance (1).
Two sampled answers tied the name to problems. Claude's answer to a homeowner asking about pipeline safety violations said Enbridge Gas Ohio received a $1,000,000 penalty in 2025 for a gas pipeline safety code violation. Gemini's answer on overbilling listed Enbridge Gas as facing scrutiny in Ontario over extended reliance on estimated readings. These come from single answers and are attributed to the assistants, not confirmed here.
NextEra Energy, Brookfield Renewable, and Enbridge stand out for their combination of financial strength, durability, and long-term growth profiles…
What the press is saying
PeakMetrics' news index shows 3,730 mentions of Enbridge over the last 30 days, 1,027 with the brand in the headline. Recent headlines center on capital markets and infrastructure: an open season for a proposed Texas natural gas pipeline, a share drop as a large equity raise overshadowed the Tallgrass deal, the closing of a CDN$3.0 billion common equity offering, and a stock holding near C$67.45 support as bond yields rose.
That is a financial and deal-flow story, told largely by trading and investor-facing outlets.

The gap
Press volume and AI visibility diverge here. Enbridge's 3,730 news mentions exceed those of Exelon, Southern Company, Constellation Energy, Dominion Energy and Duke Energy, yet it was named in fewer answers (42) than all of them but Exelon and Occidental Petroleum. ExxonMobil (169), Shell (160) and Chevron (158) were named far more often.
The investment-oriented theme does overlap with the press. Both center on Enbridge as a financial name. But the press is about a specific equity raise and pipeline expansion, while the answers offer generic 'financial strength and durability' language inside lists. On trust, safety, reliability and service questions, Enbridge was largely absent, and where it did appear, the sampled context was a penalty and a billing dispute.
What to watch
A comms team would note that the assistants place Enbridge where investors look and mostly not where the public asks about safety, trust or service. The few safety and billing mentions in the sampled answers came from regional gas distribution contexts (Ohio, Ontario), which a team could check against the source material behind them.
This is one snapshot, and live answers vary between runs. The useful next step is to repeat the benchmark questions on trust, safety and billing, and track which domains the assistants cite when Enbridge does appear.
