How the answers frame Disney
This snapshot, measured on 2026-09-28 across ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity and Grok, covers 25 answers to category questions that never named a brand. Disney appeared in 8 of them, the most of any brand in the Telecom & Media set. Verizon appeared in 6 and AT&T in 4.
Every Disney mention on the streaming value question was about price. All five assistants named it, mostly as a bundle. ChatGPT called Disney+ plus Hulu Bundle Basic its "best bundle value" at $12.99 a month. Claude put a Disney+/Hulu/Max bundle first. Gemini and Perplexity also pointed to the Disney+/Hulu pairing. The data credits Disney with Price & Value in five of its eight mentions.
The reputation question produced a different picture. Claude, Gemini and Grok named Disney, but not as a lead example. Claude cited the 2026 Axios Harris Poll 100 and said Disney's reputation was declining, while noting Disney ranked higher than the worst performers. Gemini listed Disney among large media conglomerates that keep market influence even when reputation fluctuates. Grok mentioned Disney/ABC in connection with scrutiny over legal settlements, inside a discussion of a media capitulation index.
Two of the eight mentions were tagged Not Substantive, and one was tagged Safety & Compliance.
Disney+ + Hulu (~$12.99 with ads): Strong for families (Disney/Marvel/Pixar), current network TV, and Hulu originals.
What the press is saying
PeakMetrics' news index shows 93,991 mentions of Disney over the last 30 days, 14,798 of them with the brand in the headline. Among its sector peers only Netflix, at 134,987, is higher. Comcast has 10,833 and Verizon 23,125.
The recent headlines sampled are mostly entertainment and product stories. They include a Darkwing Duck revival ordered for Disney+, an anniversary look back at the Marvel acquisition, and a report that Disney Plus's ad-free experience is no longer fully ad-free for European subscribers. Two others are a podcast episode and a piece about filmmaker Abigail Disney, so some of the volume is name overlap rather than company news.
Disney's reputation is continuing to decline, according to the 2026 Axios Harris Poll 100…
The gap
The press story is about content: shows, franchises and the Marvel deal. The AI story is about what a subscription costs and what it bundles. The assistants described Disney+ mainly as a value proposition, not as a studio.
The one place the two touch is the ad-free headline, which is a pricing and value story in the press. The reputation thread in the answers, including the Axios Harris reference and the settlements mention, has no obvious counterpart in the five headlines sampled. That is a small sample, but it suggests the reputational framing the assistants drew on may come from sources other than day-to-day entertainment coverage.
What to watch
For a Disney comms team, this snapshot shows two AI narratives running side by side. On value, the bundle is the hook, and pricing changes or tier changes such as the ad-free story are likely to feed directly into how assistants describe it. On reputation, the answers leaned on third-party rankings and indices, so the cited domains matter more than Disney's own press volume.
These are single runs from five assistants on two benchmark questions. Live answers vary between runs, so treat this as a baseline to re-measure, not a settled position.
