How the answers frame C.H. Robinson
This snapshot (measured 2026-09-29) covers 250 category questions put to ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity and Grok, none of which named a brand. C.H. Robinson was named in 59 of the 1,250 answers. FedEx and UPS each appeared in roughly 890 to 900. By provider, Grok named C.H. Robinson in 19 of its 250 answers, Gemini in 13, Perplexity in 10, ChatGPT in 9 and Claude in 8.
The brand shows up where the question is about freight, brokerage or big-company logistics. Perplexity's answer to "Who are the leading freight brokerage firms in the country?" listed C.H. Robinson first, at $11.56 billion in 2026 gross brokerage revenue. Gemini described it as a large U.S. freight broker and 3PL. In Claude's cold chain answer it sat in a group of "other major players", after Americold, Lineage and Maersk.
Most mentions carried little description. The credit data classes six of the recorded credits as "Not Substantive", with one each for Reliability & Operations and Financial Performance. Visibility by question intent was highest for trust and leadership questions (16% each). It was 0% for service and for speed and tracking, and 1% for safety and small-business fit.
In the investor answer from Perplexity, C.H. Robinson came after UPS, DHL Group, FedEx and J.B. Hunt as a name "also worth examining".
One of the largest freight brokers and third-party logistics (3PL) providers in the U.S., known for its massive carrier network and advanced logistics technology.
What the press is saying
PeakMetrics' news index shows 1,932 mentions of C.H. Robinson over the last 30 days, 569 of them with the brand in the headline. That is well below FedEx (21,769) and UPS (34,392) and above J.B. Hunt (3,040) only when compared on AI visibility, not on news volume.
The recent headlines are financial. A repeated "Is C.H. Robinson Stock Underperforming the S&P 500?" appears across several small syndicating sites, alongside an item about the company participating in upcoming investor conferences. The press storyline in these samples is about the stock and investor relations.
…are also worth examining in freight forwarding and brokerage…
The gap
The two stories barely overlap. The press sample is about share-price performance. The AI answers are about category position: a large broker, a big carrier network, a name to include on a shortlist. Even the investor question did not lead the assistants to stock-performance narratives; Perplexity said management quality is hard to rank and pointed to reputation signals.
The answers also gave the brand little descriptive detail. Where it appeared, it was mostly as a list entry rather than a named strength on service, tracking or handling, which are the topics where the snapshot showed almost no visibility.
What to watch
A comms team would take three points from this single snapshot. First, brokerage and 3PL questions are where the assistants surface the brand, so the descriptions there matter most. Second, service, tracking and safety questions produced little or no visibility, so those themes are open ground in these answers. Third, the syndicated stock-performance headlines are the most repeated press item, and they are not what the assistants drew on here.
Live answers vary between runs. Repeat these benchmark questions before treating any of this as a pattern.
