How the answers frame BlackRock
This snapshot, taken on 2026-09-29, covers 250 benchmark questions put to ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity and Grok, or 1,250 answers in all. BlackRock was named in 3 of them. ChatGPT named it in 2 answers, Claude in 1, and Gemini, Perplexity and Grok in none. Visibility by question intent was 0% for reliability, value, service, safety, innovation, leadership, sustainability and regulatory compliance. It was 1% for trust and 2% for employer questions.
Two stored answers named the firm. In Claude's answer to "Which financial companies offer the best remote or hybrid work policies?", BlackRock sat under a "Structured Hybrid Approaches" heading beside Bridgewater Associates. The answer described a policy of working from home one day per week. The same answer named Citibank and Wells Fargo. ChatGPT's answer to "Top employers for women in banking leadership?" listed BlackRock alongside JPMorgan in an employer-ranking context. The stored text is cut off before it shows what the answer said about BlackRock.
The credit tags on those appearances were "Labour & Workplace" once and "Not Substantive" once. In this snapshot the assistants never credited BlackRock for anything to do with its core business.
**BlackRock** and **Bridgewater Associates** have implemented structured hybrid work policies where employees can work from home one day per week…
What the press is saying
PeakMetrics' news index recorded 64,484 mentions of BlackRock over the last 30 days. 7,618 of them carried the brand in the headline. Recent headlines centre on markets and investing: a mining trust's net asset value, a question about whether the stock is underperforming the Dow, a prediction on AI and stablecoins, and an upgrade of emerging market stocks to overweight on AI demand. One headline is an unrelated local death notice that uses the name Blackrock.
That volume is close to Wells Fargo (65,947) and Citigroup (61,106) and above Capital One (15,891) and Visa (24,520). Only Bank of America, Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley, along with JPMorgan Chase at 62,944 mentions, sit in the same range or higher.
The gap
The press covers BlackRock as a market and investment story. The assistants, answering questions that never named a brand, mostly did not name it at all. Banks with comparable news volume, such as Wells Fargo (372 of 1,250 answers) and Citigroup (277), appeared far more often. JPMorgan Chase appeared in 591. Fidelity Investments, with much lighter coverage of 2,524 mentions, appeared in 28 answers, more than BlackRock.
So in this snapshot, news volume did not translate into AI visibility. The few times BlackRock surfaced, the context was employer and work-policy questions, not the investment topics that fill its headlines.
What to watch
A comms team would read this as a category-framing issue. The benchmark questions sampled here were consumer- and employer-oriented (trust, service, digital banking, rewards, employer). They did not include asset-management questions. Absence here says little about how the assistants answer questions about asset managers directly, and that would need its own benchmark set.
Two things are worth tracking. First, whether employer and workplace content is the main route by which the assistants reach BlackRock. Second, which sources feed those answers. Live answers vary between runs, so this single snapshot is a starting point and not a ranking.
