مقطع يُظهر إسقاط باكستان لمقاتلات حربية هندية

Publisher’s rating: مش حقيقي

The review reports that the video circulating as footage of Pakistan shooting down Indian fighter jets was traced to an earlier upload and depicts a military simulation game, not a real event. It also notes that Pakistan’s information minister announced the downing of Indian aircraft without providing visual evidence.

FACTLYWar & conflict

Visuals show Pakistan’s retaliatory attack on India following ‘Operation Sindoor’, conducted on 07 May 2025.

Publisher’s rating: FALSE

FACTLY found that the visuals do not show Pakistan’s retaliation after Operation Sindoor; the examined photos and videos were either old or unrelated to the conflict. For example, the video presented as a missile attack was from the 2020 Beirut explosion, and footage said to show an attack on Srinagar airbase depicted 2024 clashes in Pakistan.

Claim: This video allegedly shows how Pakistan shot down an Indian fighter jet.

Publisher’s rating: DW Fact check: Fake. Users online were quick to point out that this scene is from a video game, most likely from this one. Compared to other night-time footage, the video is suspiciously well-lit and has an artificial feel to it. Going through the video frame by frame, the unnaturally pixelated lights are a hint that the video is artificial. It's not the first time that video game footage has been used in conflicts. DW Fact check has reported on other cases in the past.
