Claim: This Ram Bhajan video not related with Dubai I துபாய் மசூதியில் ராம பஜனை

Publisher’s rating: False

The claim concerns a social-media video said to show Muslim women singing Ram bhajan in a Dubai mosque while men described as their husbands applaud. Fact Crescendo reports that it examined the circulated video and the claim attached to it, which described the setting as Dubai and a mosque. The review says the footage did not appear to have been edited: the singers’ lip movements matched the song. It also observed that some women had kumkum on their foreheads, prompting the investigators to check the video’s location and the participants’ identities. The review describes turning a frame from the video into an image and using reverse-image search. That search led to YouTube videos and reports from Sri Lankan media, as well as a report by the Prashanti Reporter, a site associated with the Puttaparthi Sathya Sai organization. The cited account described a 2012 gathering in Puttaparthi, Andhra Pradesh, involving 94 Sai organization members from Middle Eastern countries, including the UAE. Participants joined in bhajans after six Arabic songs. The review says the videos contained the same scenes as the viral clip. This evidence places the footage at Puttaparthi in India, not at a Dubai mosque. The review also notes that the account did not identify the participants as either Muslims or Hindus. Thus, the video’s depiction of a bhajan does not support the claim’s location or its characterization of the singers and audience. The review concludes that the viral description was false.
