Video of AAP MP Sanjay Singh beating his party’s MLA at a meeting
Publisher’s rating: FALSE
The claim concerns a video said to show Aam Aadmi Party MP Sanjay Singh beating an AAP MLA with a shoe during a party meeting, with the MLA then hitting Singh back. The review identifies the people in the footage instead as Uttar Pradesh BJP lawmakers: former BJP MP Sharad Tripathi and BJP MLA Rakesh Singh. It says the confrontation followed an argument about the placement of names on a project’s foundation stone. To investigate the video’s provenance, the review says it used reverse image searches on screenshots and found the same footage on NDTV’s YouTube channel. The review describes that video as uploaded on 6 March 2019 and identifies the incident as the exchange of blows between Tripathi and Rakesh Singh. It also points to visible political imagery in the footage: a poster of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. These details contradict the identification in the social-media claim: the review attributes the men in the video to the Uttar Pradesh BJP, not the AAP, and places the altercation in a dispute over a foundation-stone inscription rather than an AAP meeting. The review therefore concludes that the video was falsely presented as showing Sanjay Singh and an AAP MLA.

FACT CHECK: ඇමතිලාට සැප වාහන ගෙන්වීම නවතා, Low Floor බස් රථ 2000ක් ගෙන්වනවාද?
Publisher’s rating: Misleading
The claim circulating on social media was that the import of luxury vehicles for ministers had been halted and that 2,000 low-floor buses would instead be brought in for the public. The review distinguishes this claim from earlier bus proposals and from a separate government-approved procurement. It notes that the bus claim had circulated on Facebook in 2020 as well as in the posts it examined.

Queen Elizabeth stated Narendra Modi is the first Indian Prime Minister to whom she had to bow down
Publisher’s rating: FALSE
The claim concerned a social-media post alleging that Queen Elizabeth had said Narendra Modi was the first—or, in the post’s wording, the only—Indian prime minister to whom she had ever had to bow down. FACTLY says the post was already circulating at least by 2018. The review reports that it found no such statement or news report linking the words to the Queen, and concludes that she had not made the statement.
Israel advised India to print “KASHMIR BELONGS TO INDIA” on every Indian currency note
Publisher’s rating: FALSE
The claim concerns advice allegedly given by Israel to India to print “KASHMIR BELONGS TO INDIA” on every currency note as a way to stop Pakistan from printing counterfeit Indian notes. FACTLY reports that it searched for whether Israeli officials had recently made such a statement and found no news report about the alleged advice. The review says that, if Israel had made the proposal, it would expect major media outlets to report it; it does not cite a direct statement or document containing the alleged advice. The review distinguishes the rumor from an actual Israeli position expressed in August 2017. It says Israeli officials stated that Israel would not support Pakistan on Kashmir and endorsed the Indian government’s position, describing Kashmir as an integral part of India. But the review explicitly says this did not include advice to print the slogan on currency notes. Its conclusion is that the reported position on Kashmir does not substantiate the separate claim about currency-note advice.
Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut serving tea to PM Narendra Modi
Publisher’s rating: FALSE
The claim concerned a video shared as showing Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut serving tea to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray and others. FACTLY reports that the footage was edited: an image of Raut making tea was inserted into visuals from a meeting with Modi. The review identifies the genuine event as a meeting on 8 June 2021 involving Modi, Thackeray, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar and Minister Ashok Chavan. To check the video, the review says it searched screenshots from it using reverse image search and found a news article with a similar image. That article described the 8 June meeting at Modi’s 7 Lok Kalyan Marg residence in New Delhi. FACTLY reports that the meeting images it examined did not include Raut, and that the meeting was also documented in a post from the Maharashtra Chief Minister’s official account naming Thackeray, Pawar and Chavan. The review says comparison of the shared video screenshots with the meeting image showed that tea glasses had been added to the genuine image. It also identifies another inserted element: an article from 26 March 2020 showing Raut playing harmonium had been morphed and added to the video. The evidence described in the review therefore distinguishes the original meeting footage from the altered composite, rather than showing Raut serving tea at that meeting.

The claim concerned a social-media post presenting the JVP as calling for Ranil Wickremesinghe to become opposition leader. Fact Crescendo reports that the post said, “No more drama! Make Ranil Wickremesinghe the opposition leader!” and was circulated as if it were a JVP statement. The review says the post used a design resembling the party’s format, which made checking the image’s provenance important. To investigate, the reviewers checked the JVP’s official Facebook page for a similar recent statement. They found a post there with the same “No more drama!” framing, but calling for an immediate reduction in the increased fuel price. The review says a comparison of the two posts showed that the fuel-price statement had been edited to replace its message with the opposition-leader demand. Fact Crescendo also says it contacted the JVP media division, which denied issuing any such statement and described the circulating image as a fake edit. Taken together, the comparison with the official post and the party’s denial support the review’s conclusion that the image misrepresented a JVP statement rather than documenting a genuine call to make Wickremesinghe opposition leader.
FACT CHECK: සජිත් ප්රේමදාස මහතාගේ ආරක්ෂක රථ පෙළෙහි වීඩියෝවක්?
Publisher’s rating: Misleading
The review examined a widely shared Facebook video captioned “Sajith Premadasa’s Squad | 2025 Next president.” Its presentation suggested that the vehicles shown were Sajith Premadasa’s official security convoy. The review says the video was actually edited together from three separate clips, and that presenting it without background information encouraged viewers to interpret all the vehicles as his convoy: “අවස්ථා 3 කදී ලබා ගත් වීඩියෝ කොටස් මෙලෙස තනි වීඩියෝවක් ලෙස සංස්කරණය කර යොදා ගෙන තිබුණා.” To investigate the first clip, the reviewers examined its surroundings, including Tamil-language campaign material, and searched for the original footage on YouTube. They identified the location as Kaluthavalai public grounds in Batticaloa District and linked the footage to a campaign rally held shortly before the November 2019 presidential election. The review reports that the rally was organized by S. Ganeshamurthi and attended by several politicians, including Sajith Premadasa. It also notes that the footage shows vehicles travelling in both directions, rather than establishing that the entire procession belonged to Premadasa alone. The review further reports that Premadasa’s media secretary said his usual convoy consisted of about three cars, with a maximum of about five, and clarified that the circulated video included security vehicles belonging to other dignitaries present at the rally. The other clips also had different origins: the second showed another campaign rally, while the final clip showed a procession of BMW i8 cars being taken for display in Colombo. Thus, the video combined footage from different settings and did not depict only Premadasa’s regular security convoy.

«L’assegno unico è una misura concreta di aiuto e sostegno a tutte le famiglie, senza eccezioni: nessuno resta escluso»
Publisher’s rating: Nì
The review says the temporary 2021 allowance covered only certain categories and had eligibility requirements, including residency and income-related conditions. It notes that the permanent measure was not yet in force and that the delegation law also provided for exclusions, so the claim that no family would be excluded was not supported.
