The review says the viral photo shows a severe monkeypox case in Mexico from 11 October 2022, not a case in Singapore. It reports that Mexican infectious disease specialist José Hiram Hernández Jerónimo identified the photo as showing a patient with over 250 sores. The review also says Singapore had 13 confirmed cases in 2024 as of 22 August, all of the less severe Clade II type.
