Publisher’s rating: Een video van een Amerikaanse man die zichzelf introduceert als dokter Kevin Stillwagon doet de ronde op sociale media. In de video doet Stillwagon meerdere uitspraken over COVID-19 en de coronavaccins. Het fragment wordt ook met Nederlandstalige ondertitels gedeeld op Facebook (hier gearchiveerd). Stillwagon is zeer kritisch voor de vaccins. Die zouden niet beschermen tegen infectie, het immuunsysteem juist verzwakken en virusvarianten uitlokken. Verder zouden de coronavaccins ook niet onderworpen zijn aan dierproeven en slechts een noodgoedkeuring hebben gekregen van de Amerikaanse geneesmiddelenautoriteit FDA.

Video of Puneeth Raj Kumar collapsing due to cardiac arrest

The post identified a CCTV-style video of a man collapsing on a staircase as footage of Kannada actor Puneeth Raj Kumar suffering a cardiac arrest. FACTLY’s review says the video was already associated with a Bengaluru incident from August 2021, before it was circulated with claims about Raj Kumar. Its investigation therefore focused on the footage’s earlier provenance and whether the person shown could be Raj Kumar. To trace the clip, FACTLY reports searching relevant keywords and finding Kannada news reports from two months earlier that carried the same video in a clearer version. The review says that version displayed the CCTV recording date as 25 August 2021. It also reports that another news video located the incident at Gold’s Gym in Banashankari, Bengaluru. These details place the footage at a specific earlier event, rather than at Raj Kumar’s later death. The review adds that the same footage had also been attributed to actor Sidharth Shukla. In reporting on that earlier misattribution, BOOM contacted Gold’s Gym; the center manager described the man as a trial-class visitor who fainted after working out. FACTLY also says no video connected to Raj Kumar’s death had been officially released. Taken together, the earlier recording date, Bengaluru location and gym account contradict the post’s identification of the man as Raj Kumar.

Die Sicherheit und Wirksamkeit der Impfstoffe werden zudem laufend überwacht. Die Impfstoffe gegen Sars-CoV-2 wurden nach den üblichen Vorschriften und Verfahren geprüft und zugelassen. Die Haftung bei möglichen Impfschäden ist ebenfalls geregelt. Bei der Covid-19-Impfung kommen die üblichen bestehenden Haftungsregeln zum Einsatz. Über Zulassungsverfahren und Haftungsregeln hat der Bund sehr wohl informiert.

That figure is specific to the August measurement; it is not presented as a risk estimate for every month or every place. The review also calculated average monthly deaths across the five months from April through August. It says its calculation used the sum of recorded deaths divided by those five months, and reports averages of 0.38 deaths per 100,000 vaccinated people and 4 per 100,000 unvaccinated people. Those averages describe deaths per population, while the 11.3-fold figure is the review’s reported risk comparison for August. The review notes that deaths also increased among vaccinated people, particularly in July and August as the Delta variant became dominant, but says deaths per 100,000 remained higher among unvaccinated people throughout the period it examined. It also distinguishes the national CDC comparison from a separate 57-fold figure: that number concerned King County, Seattle, during September, according to the county health department, not the national August data. The review says it corrected an earlier version that had omitted this geographic qualification.

Het heeft dus niet met het huidige coronavaccinatiebeleid te maken en het korten van toeslagen voor niet vaccineren ligt - voor zover bekend - momenteel niet op tafel als daadwerkelijke maatregel.

The claim circulated with a screenshot headed “VVD: geen prik, geen geld” and was presented in October 2021 as relating to coronavirus vaccination. The review identifies the screenshot as an incomplete extract from an RTL Nieuws article about childhood vaccination policy, not a proposal concerning COVID-19 vaccines. It says COVID-19 emerged in Wuhan only at the end of 2019 and the first COVID-19 vaccine was approved in December 2020, after the debate described in the article. The underlying discussion took place in the Dutch House of Representatives on the day the RTL article appeared. VVD MP Veldman asked the state secretary to examine the pros and cons of Australia’s “no jab, no pay” approach, including whether child-related benefits could be withheld when a child was unvaccinated. The video shows about fifty Italian flight attendants removing their uniforms together in Rome. Text appearing at the beginning of the video says they refuse a “deadly injection,” and a social-media post recasts the protest as a choice of life over work. The review identifies the women as former Alitalia employees and dates their protest to 20 October 2021, at Piazza del Campidoglio, outside Rome’s city hall. The review connects the demonstration to job losses and reduced employment conditions following Alitalia’s collapse, not to vaccination. Alitalia made its final flight on 14 October, after which ITA Airways took over as Italy’s national airline. According to the review’s account of VRT reporting, ITA took on only 3,000 of Alitalia’s 10,000 employees, and wages at the new airline were substantially lower. The review says Italian media, CNN and BILD also shared footage of the protest, and concludes that it had nothing to do with COVID-19 vaccination.

The investigation examined a poster shared on Facebook that purported to be from the Irish government and listed “onmiddelijke dood” (“Sudden Death”) among possible vaccination side effects. It found that the poster was manipulated and was not official government communication: although designed to look official, it was not issued by the Irish government. The review reports that an HPRA spokesperson confirmed by email that the poster was not official communication from the HPRA, the Health Service Executive (HSE), or the Irish government. It also describes visible differences from official material: the poster’s harp logo used “Muintir na hÉireann/People of Ireland” rather than the government’s “Rialtas na hÉireann/Government of Ireland,” and the HSE logo was missing. The review further says that “sudden death” did not appear in the HPRA’s 7 October 2021 vaccine update or in the Irish government’s official vaccination brochures for Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca, and Janssen. The claim therefore misrepresents a fabricated poster as official guidance and as an official listing of vaccine side effects.
