Publisher’s rating: Falsch
The claim compares wearing a mask with wearing underwear, arguing that masks cannot stop viruses because underwear does not hold back flatulence. The review examines that exact analogy. It explains that SARS-CoV-2 is mainly transmitted through droplets and smaller aerosols produced by breathing, coughing or speaking, which can then be inhaled; for that reason, it says, the underwear comparison is misleading. It reports that masks can reduce transmission, including by reducing the speed of exhaled air and the release of droplets. The review distinguishes this respiratory route from the proposed role of flatulence. It notes that intestinal gas consists of gases, but says it was not scientifically established whether flatulence can transmit diseases such as Covid-19. It also discusses evidence that does not prove such transmission: a study involving one house and nine infected people considered possible spread through toilet flushing, but the review cautions that this was not very informative; an experiment involving one person found bacteria on a dish after flatulence without clothing, but not with clothing. These findings do not establish that flatulence transmits coronavirus or make it comparable to respiratory exposure. The review further differentiates mask types. It says analyses from 2020 indicated that cloth masks could reduce coronavirus transmission, particularly by limiting droplets and airflow and thereby protecting others. It describes surgical masks as also primarily protecting others, while properly fitted FFP2 or KN95 masks can protect the wearer by filtering much of the aerosol. Thus, the claim’s analogy does not account for the different transmission routes or the reported evidence on mask performance.

The review examines claims by physician Hassan Abu Farasakh, made in an Al Arabiya interview, that Omicron was a “divine vaccine” and would bring the COVID-19 pandemic to an end. As the review recounts them, he described Omicron as a mild virus that would spread widely, produce rapid herd immunity, and lead to the pandemic ending within months. These are the specific predictions the review assesses; the excerpt does not present them as findings established by research. The review says Abu Farasakh’s claims were not based on scientific studies or evidence. It also cites the World Health Organization’s assessment that Omicron still posed a very high risk, including because it had a growth advantage over Delta and was spreading rapidly in communities. The review further reports that the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control described Omicron as highly transmissible and capable of immune escape compared with Delta. This evidence weighs against treating the interview’s predictions of a harmless, pandemic-ending “vaccine” as established scientific conclusions. The review also notes that a new variant had appeared in France after Omicron’s spread, and says the WHO had not declared Omicron the end of the pandemic. On the evidence described in this excerpt, the claim that Omicron was a divine vaccine and would end the pandemic was unsupported: the review reports no scientific studies substantiating it and cites health-agency assessments that instead emphasized Omicron’s risks and transmissibility.
The post used a screenshot of a plastic mannequin in a hospital bed, missing its arms, to suggest that French hospitals were staging scenes during the Omicron wave. The review traced the screenshot to a Radio-Canada report from April 2020, rather than to a French hospital report made during Omicron. It identifies the speaker as Dr. Mathieu Simon, head of intensive care at Quebec’s university institute of cardiology and pneumology. [S1] The review says the screenshot’s apparent French TV clues were misleading: it showed a chyron reporting that French Prime Minister Jean Castex had tested positive on November 22, 2021, but the image itself came from the earlier Radio-Canada report. [S1] In that report, Simon explained that journalists could not enter the actual COVID-19 ward, so the broadcaster used mannequins in simulation rooms to illustrate what happens when a COVID-19 patient is admitted to intensive care. The mannequin was therefore being used as a training or demonstration prop, not presented as a real patient. This context directly contradicts the post’s implication that the image exposed a fabricated hospital scene. [S1] The timing also undercuts the Omicron framing. The review states that France detected its first Omicron cases on December 2, 2021—after the screenshot’s Castex chyron and long after the April 2020 Radio-Canada report. The image predates Omicron and depicts a stated simulation, not evidence that the pandemic was a hoax. [S1]
Sinaasappelsap geeft positieve zelftest.
The reviewed video shows someone squeezing an orange over a coronavirus self-test; drops of juice land on it and red lines appear. The review says the clip circulated online and was shared by a Dutch Facebook user alongside claims about why people did not need to test. The appearance of lines in that clip does not establish that orange juice produced a valid positive result: the test was used in a way that made its result invalid. The review explains that the test was designed for human nasal swabs, not other liquids. In the normal procedure, the swab goes into a tube containing buffer fluid, which the review describes as essential. That step was omitted in the video. The review also says the results were interpreted immediately, although the Healgen test instructions specify waiting 15 minutes, and the video’s lines appeared in an abnormal order: the T line appeared before the C control line. The review therefore treats the visible lines as an invalid test result, not evidence that orange juice caused a valid positive self-test. Its conclusion is limited to this video and method; the excerpt does not report a controlled experiment testing orange juice under valid test conditions.
Trouw: Vaccinatie vermoedelijke oorzaak oversterfte
Publisher’s rating: Het screenshot is gemanipuleerd.
The letter at issue came from the German insurer Haftpflichtkasse. It said that health damage caused by coronavirus vaccination was not covered, and social-media users cited it to suggest insurers knew of vaccine risks that were being concealed. The review reports that the letter concerned insurance products offered before the pandemic, rather than establishing a general policy across insurance products or insurers. The insurer told dpa that it had offered customers in that product class an opportunity to switch. It also said that new products covered potential coronavirus-vaccination damage. Thus, the exclusion described in the letter applied to the older products; the insurer’s account does not support the broader conclusion that vaccine-related damage was never covered by the company. The review also describes other possible routes for support in the event of vaccine injury. It reports that the federal government provides for compensation for health damage linked to vaccinations administered under the Coronavirus Vaccination Ordinance from 27 December 2020, and that health and treatment costs may be covered by statutory health insurance. These points concern compensation and other insurance arrangements, not the terms of the particular Haftpflichtkasse letter.
