Video of BJP leader Jyotiraditya Scindia mistakenly asking people to vote for Congress in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly Elections (2022)
Publisher’s rating: MISLEADING
The post presents a clip of BJP leader Jyotiraditya Scindia first asking people to vote for Congress and then correcting himself as an incident from the 2022 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections. FACTLY’s review says the clip does show Scindia’s verbal slip, but places it at a poll rally in Madhya Pradesh in 2020—not in Uttar Pradesh or during the 2022 election.

Video of burka-clad women who tried to cast fake votes in favour of Samajwadi Party in the ongoing 2022 UP Assembly elections
Publisher’s rating: FALSE
The claim concerns a video presented as showing burka-clad women trying to cast fake votes for the Samajwadi Party during the 2022 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections. FACTLY traced the footage to a different election: the 2017 Uttar Pradesh municipal elections. Its account identifies the woman confronting the group as Shaila Khan, a Bahujan Samaj Party candidate, and places the incident at a municipal polling booth in Rampur. The footage therefore does not establish that the incident occurred in the 2022 Assembly election. FACTLY describes checking the video’s audio and searching for the footage using identifying keywords. It reports hearing the woman identify herself as BSP candidate Shaila Khan, and finding a Facebook post by a BJP worker dated 28 November 2017 that shared similar visuals and described Khan catching four women using forged Aadhaar cards. The review also says that further searches found Shaila Khan had been nominated for the Rampur Municipal Chairman elections held in November 2017, with contemporary news articles and campaign material located in its search. The investigation does not establish the women’s party affiliation: FACTLY says it found no news report identifying them as Samajwadi Party supporters, while noting that this possibility could not be ruled out. That qualification does not change the central finding about the video’s date and setting. The footage is from the 2017 municipal-election context, not evidence of the alleged incident in the ongoing 2022 Assembly elections.

Januar 2021 vom US-Kongress offiziell zertifiziert.
The claim circulating in social media was that Wisconsin’s legislature had voted, unanimously, to reverse alleged fraud in the 2020 presidential election. The investigation identifies a real legislative proposal but distinguishes it from an adopted measure: Republican state Representative Timothy Ramthun introduced a resolution, but the state House did not vote on it. The proposal was not unanimously approved. The review describes the legislative procedure relevant to the claim. Under the stated rules, a proposed resolution first goes to a committee, which considers its legality and may place it on the agenda for a vote. In this case, the committee did not accept the resolution. Committee chair Jim Steineke called it illegal and unconstitutional, and said in a tweet that it had not been voted on. Thus, the proposal’s introduction—and the committee’s consideration of it—does not establish that the legislature voted to undo an election result. The review also places the proposal against the official election outcome: both chambers of the US Congress certified the 2020 presidential results on January 6, 2021, confirming Joe Biden’s victory. In Wisconsin, Biden had a lead of about 20,600 votes over Donald Trump. The review reports no evidence of the alleged election fraud in the state. These details distinguish a rejected proposal about the election from an actual legislative vote or a change to the certified result.

Claim: KN Nehru not said this statement about dmk electoral promises
Publisher’s rating: FALSE
The claim concerned a social-media news card attributed to Thanthi TV. It purported to quote minister K.N. Nehru saying that fulfilling election promises was not the right time and that the government might try after M.K. Stalin became prime minister. Fact Crescendo reports that the card was circulating as Tamil Nadu’s rural local-body elections approached, and that one Facebook post carrying it was made on February 14, 2022. The card itself was presented as having been issued on February 12. The review describes several checks of the allegation. It says the publisher found no news report from February 12 that Nehru had made the statement, and no corresponding viral video on Facebook or YouTube. It also compared the card’s Tamil font and design with Thanthi TV’s usual cards. The review notes a wording error in the alleged quote: it used an informal, grammatically incorrect form of “after becoming prime minister.” The review then checked Thanthi TV’s published cards and says none featured Nehru. It also reports that a Thanthi TV digital-division administrator confirmed the card was fake. On that basis, Fact Crescendo concluded that the circulating card did not substantiate the claim that Nehru made the quoted remark. The evidence described is primarily about the card’s provenance and the absence of corroborating reports or video; the excerpt does not provide a recording or transcript of Nehru’s remarks.
