The claim concerns a WhatsApp audio in which a man says Lula supporters should vote on October 3 rather than October 2 to avoid voters supporting Jair Bolsonaro. The investigation identifies the audio’s asserted basis as a supposed Jornal Nacional report, and says that the program did not publish the material described in the message. It also reports that the program’s September 30 coverage said voting would take place on the following Sunday, October 2. The decisive point is that the audio’s proposed division of voters by candidate does not match the election calendar described in the review: all voters were to attend on October 2. The review says the team consulted the Superior Electoral Court’s calendar and confirmed October 2 as the official first-round date nationwide; it also notes that the court’s calendar set October 30 for any second round.

The video was shared as if it showed a reaction in Rome to the 2022 Italian parliamentary election, with some posts linking the removal of an EU flag to remarks by European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen. The investigation found that the footage did not depict a new post-election event: it traced the video to an earlier action by the far-right group CasaPound Italia. The review describes a reverse image search that led to a YouTube video bearing a French title and dated 17 December 2013. That video showed the full action and the subsequent confrontations with police. The source also says the incident took place outside an EU office in Rome, and that the footage appeared on CasaPound’s own YouTube channel. These details identify the clip’s provenance and setting, rather than merely showing that an unrelated event also involved a flag. The chronology rules out the suggested link to the 2022 election or von der Leyen’s comments: the Italian election took place on 25 September 2022, while the traced footage dates to 2013. The review further notes that CasaPound’s former vice-president Simone Di Stefano was arrested after the action. Thus the video shows an earlier CasaPound action, not a response to the recent election or the Commission president’s remarks.
