The claim attached to the video was that aircraft bound for Dubai’s COP 28 had become stuck at Munich airport after heavy snowfall in early December 2023. The investigation identifies the aircraft shown as a private jet that was parked at Munich, not an aircraft stranded en route to the climate conference. The airline and airport told dpa that the jet had not been scheduled to fly during that period and had no passengers or crew aboard. To identify the aircraft, the investigation examined the video and read its registration, OE-HUB, visible from about nine seconds in. That registration identified it as a Cessna Citation X operated by Bairline. Flight-tracking sites indicated its last flight was on 15 November 2023, from Antwerp to Munich. Bairline’s representative confirmed it was parked at the airport, while Munich airport’s press office said accumulated snow caused it to tip backward; firefighters later righted it. The video therefore shows a snow-related incident at Munich, but the evidence does not support the claim that the aircraft was headed to Dubai or that it was frozen in place. COP 28 took place in Dubai from 30 November to 13 December 2023, during the period of the snow disruption in southern Germany. That timing may make the social-media connection seem plausible, but the aircraft’s identification, flight history, and confirmations from the airline and airport contradict it.
