PolitiFactDisasters & emergencies

Hurricane Helene was the product of intentional weather modification.

Publisher’s rating: Pants on Fire

The supplied related reporting ties this allegation to comments by Tucker Carlson and Dane Wigington. In the interview excerpt, Wigington says that they “recorded frequency transmissions manipulating that storm and steering it into place.” This is evidence that the allegation was made; the excerpt does not provide the recordings or independently establish what they show. The material provided does not document an investigation of Helene’s formation or path, identify a verified weather-modification operation, or show evidence demonstrating that intentional modification caused the hurricane. It therefore supports describing the claim as an allegation in the interview, but it is not enough to establish the claim as fact or to explain the basis of PolitiFact’s rating.
