A video shows Monalisa Bhosle in a new look, where she is seen posing for the paparazzi and waving at them.

Publisher’s rating: FALSE

The claim concerns a circulating video said to show Monalisa Bhosle in a new look, posing for photographers and waving. FACTLY reports that the video instead depicts actress Wamiqa Gabbi, whose face was digitally replaced with Bhosle’s. The underlying scene showed Gabbi posing for paparazzi and waving on 16 January 2025, so the video’s action is real but its identification of the woman as Bhosle is not. (“The viral video actually shows actress Wamiqa Gabbi seen posing for the paparazzi and waving at them on 16 January 2025. Her face was digitally replaced with that of Monalisa Bhosle and share online.”) The review describes how it checked the video: a reverse image search of keyframes led to an Instagram post by entertainment media company Filmy Gyan, dated 17 January 2025. FACTLY says the post’s caption identified the person as Wamiqa Gabbi, and that it compared the viral video with the Instagram video. (“A reverse image search of the keyframes from the viral video led us to an Instagram post by Filmy Gyan, an entertainment media company, dated 17 January 2025. The post featured the same video, and the caption revealed that the person in the video is actress Wamiqa Gabbi.”) That comparison provided the basis for identifying the face swap: FACTLY reports that the videos showed the same scene, but the circulating version had Gabbi’s face digitally replaced with Bhosle’s. The review also says other media outlets covered Gabbi wearing the same outfit on 16 January. These points support the conclusion that the video was misattributed, rather than showing Bhosle in the claimed paparazzi encounter. (“Upon closer inspection, we found that the viral video was created by digitally replacing the face of actress Wamiqa Gabbi with that of Monalisa Bhosle.”)
