The review says the claim that the Bundesbank sued Jan Josef Liefers over remarks on live TV is false. It reports that the advertised links instead led to pages promoting online courses and financial dealings, and that the linked page had no imprint identifying who was responsible.

The viral video shows a recent 2024 incident from Madhya Pradesh’s Indore where a few Muslim men’s hands were tied with ropes and paraded semi-naked by the police for throwing stones at Hindus on Bakrid

Publisher’s rating: MISLEADING

The review says the video shows an incident in Indore from September 2023, not a recent 2024 event. It reports that police said the men had thrown stones at each other during an altercation between two groups, not at Hindus on Bakrid.

The purported newspaper headline announcing a rape-prohibition zone was manipulated; the actual NRZ headline concerned a weapons-prohibition zone in Cologne. The review says the screenshot was altered by replacing “Waffenverbotszone” with “Vergewaltigungsverbotszone.”

Fact check: Knife crime has risen by a third since 2010

Publisher’s rating: The claim about the size of the British population is largely borne out by official statistics, which show a rise of nearly five million from 62.8 million in 2010 to 67.6 million in mid-2022. With a net migration figure of 685,000 across 2023 as well, this is justifiably “almost six million”. The statement about knife crime is less straightforward. Data from the Office for National Statistics show that knife crime has risen since 2010 by about a third. These statistics reflect violent crimes committed with knives or similar weapons, and show that the number has also reduced from a peak in 2019/20.

The review says the News 7 Tamil-branded card alleging that ADMK functionary Prabhu was among eight people absconding was not issued by News 7 Tamil, which had officially denied it on its X account. It concludes that the claim was unreliable.
