Vídeo de unos hombres asaltando un comercio en Ceuta

Publisher’s rating: Falso

The review examines a security-camera video circulated with a caption claiming that men were attacking a business in Ceuta and were migrants who had crossed the border fence. It says the clip was an older hoax that resurfaced in Spain in 2019, and that the real assault took place in South Africa in November 2015. The review reports that the Ceuta National Police delegation denied the event had occurred in the city. To establish the footage’s origin, the review says the date and time visible in the video read 11 December 2015 at about 3:06 p.m. It also describes a reverse-image search: the earliest video the investigators located online was posted on 13 December 2015, with a description identifying a café at Tshwane University of Technology in Pretoria, South Africa. The review connects the footage to student protests at that university. The account cited by the review, South African outlet IOL News, described students vandalizing a campus café during protests over students’ university debts and access to examination results. The review says the incidents led to academic activities being suspended and students being evacuated from TUT’s two Pretoria campuses. This evidence supports the conclusion that the video showed student protest-related vandalism in South Africa, not an assault in Ceuta by the people described in the circulating caption.

The claim describes an incident in Mühldorf am Inn as a hostage-taking: a 16-year-old Afghan allegedly approached a group with a pistol, pulled a woman toward him and threatened to shoot her. The review says police had received a report about a young man pointing a pistol at an acquaintance, but the evidence it presents does not establish a hostage situation. It reports that the incident occurred around midday on August 20, when police were told of the alleged gun-pointing in Bahnhofstraße; an officer took the weapon from the young man at Katharinenplatz. The review identifies the weapon as a toy pistol that looked real, according to police. The account also gives relevant context missing from the dramatic online description. The head of the Mühldorf police station told dpa that the young man had handled the toy gun carelessly and had not considered how it would appear to bystanders. He explicitly confirmed that there had been no hostage-taking. The review does report further police proceedings: during a search, the 16-year-old physically resisted and insulted officers, and two police officers and the young man sustained minor injuries. The reported investigation therefore concerned alleged threats against an acquaintance and other conduct, not a verified hostage-taking.

Im Internet wird ein Video verbreitet, auf dem eine Frau von mehreren Männern angegriffen wird. Sie flüchten, als sich zwei Polizisten nähern. Im Text dazu heißt es: «Einwanderer rauben deutsche Frau aus».

Publisher’s rating: Der Überfall fand bereits 2016 in Prag statt. Täter und Opfer sind tschechische Staatsbürger.

The claim attached to the video says that immigrants robbed a German woman. The dpa review identifies the footage as a surveillance-camera recording of an incident at a police station in Prague’s Holešovice district, rather than an attack in Germany. It reports that the incident occurred in 2016 and that the people involved were Czech citizens. The review describes examining a longer version of the video, attributed to the Czech police. In that version, seven people approach the scene, including the attacker and the woman; when a man pulls her to the ground, three people in the group move away. This fuller footage provides context that is missing from the shorter circulating clip, but the excerpt does not establish that those three people were accomplices or explain why they left. The dpa also sought comment from Jan Daněk, a spokesperson for Prague police headquarters. He said the incident was not an attack by migrants, described it as drug-related, and said all the people involved were from the Czech Republic. The review adds that the principal attacker was sentenced to two and a half years in prison. Taken together, the reported location, video context, police statement, and case outcome contradict the caption’s portrayal of the incident as immigrants robbing a German woman.

Vídeo de un joven que empuja a una señora en Santander

Publisher’s rating: Falso

The video showed a young man pushing an older passenger with a cane as she tried to sit on a bus in Santander. The investigation found that the scene was staged, not an actual incident: it was the final project of a 2018 summer workshop organized by the International Menéndez Pelayo University (UIMP). The workshop’s project page also included another recording explaining that the scene was a montage. The participants said their aim was to draw attention to older people’s rights.
