Photo of the youth who were caught while making explosives inside the Allahabad University
Publisher’s rating: MISLEADING
The post claimed that a photograph showed 25 students caught making explosives in Allahabad University hostels. FACTLY’s review says the image did not show people from that incident: it identified the people pictured as a group arrested in Ratlam district, Madhya Pradesh, in connection with prostitution charges. The review’s conclusion is that the photo was being misrepresented, not that no explosives-related raid occurred at the university. (S1)

Op deze video is cocaïne te zien op het bureau van president Zelensky.
Publisher’s rating: De beelden zijn gemanipuleerd om president Zelensky in een slecht daglicht te plaatsen. Op de originele beelden is geen cocaïne te zien.
The review examines a Facebook video that appears to show white powder and a bank card on Zelensky’s desk, and asks whether it captures him using drugs. It identifies the footage as a manipulated version of a video Zelensky shared himself, rather than an authentic recording showing cocaine. The review says the supposed drugs and card are absent from the original footage and were added to the video. To check the edit, the review compares the circulated video with Zelensky’s original Instagram video. It also describes a visual clue: as the camera moves toward Zelensky, the reflection of an overhead lamp moves across the desk, but the card’s lighting does not change as the reflection passes over it. The review treats this mismatch as evidence that the card was inserted. It reports that BBC journalist Shayan Sardarizadeh and Bellingcat founder Elliot Higgins also shared side-by-side analyses of the original and manipulated footage. The source places the original recording in an online meeting between Zelensky and SpaceX founder Elon Musk in early March. It says Musk promised to provide Ukraine with more Starlink terminals. The review also addresses an on-screen question about whom Zelensky would invite after the war: it says the person is Musk, citing the surrounding exchange in which Zelensky says “If you have time” and Musk replies, “That sounds good. I look forward to visiting.”
El estado de Nuevo León no está considerado entre los estados con más violencia de México
Publisher’s rating: Engañoso
The claim concerned President Andrés Manuel López Obrador’s assertion that Nuevo León was not among Mexico’s states with the most violence. The review explains that this was true only in a limited sense: Nuevo León was not among the ten states with the most murders overall. But the claim could mislead by treating general-crime rankings as a complete picture of violence, since official measures showed a much more serious standing for violence against women. The review says Nuevo León ranked second nationally in femicides in the first quarter of 2022, and second in reported disappearances of women as of April 27, 2022. [S1] For its comparison of femicides, the review cites figures published by Mexico’s Executive Secretariat of the National Public Security System (SESNSP). From January through March 2022, the country recorded 229 femicides, including 21 in Nuevo León; only the State of Mexico had more, with 39. The review contrasts this with SESNSP figures for January through November 2021, when Nuevo León ranked fourth, with 57 of the country’s 922 femicides. It also notes that the review team tried to access general-crime data through the National Public Security System but found its page under maintenance. [S1] The review separately reports that, from January 1 through April 27, 2022, Nuevo León had 749 people reported missing or under a search notice, including 352 women. It attributes the ranking of second nationally for missing women to the National Registry of Missing and Not Located Persons. These measures do not establish that Nuevo León led the country in overall violence; they show why a statement about general violence omits relevant evidence about violence against women and disappearances. Recent Delhi riots – Mob pelting stones in the presence of police
Publisher’s rating: FALSE
The claim concerns a video shared as showing a mob pelting stones while police are present during recent Delhi riots. FACTLY’s investigation identifies the footage instead with violence during anti-CAA protests in Firozabad, Uttar Pradesh, in December 2019–January 2020. Its conclusion is that the video does not show the Delhi riots.

Recent video of police nabbing youth for brandishing swords in a bike rally in Assam
Publisher’s rating: MISLEADING
The post presented footage of police stopping people with swords during a bike rally in Assam as recent. FACTLY’s investigation identifies it as footage of an October 2020 incident in Tinsukia, Assam, so the video’s age—not whether the described incident happened—is the key correction. The review prints its conclusion as: “The video is from 2020 not a recent one.” To check the footage’s provenance, the review notes an EastMojo logo in the video and says a reverse-image search found a video with similar visuals on EastMojo’s official YouTube channel, uploaded on 27 October 2020. It reports that this video described youths brandishing swords during a bike rally in Assam and said one person detained by police admitted to being a Bajrang Dal member. The review also reports that Tinsukia police intercepted the group, detained four people and seized three motorcycles. According to the review’s account of police officials, the rally had not received permission and was travelling from Thana Chariali towards Hijugoori. It says reports described the rally as being organised by Bajrang Dal members for ‘Ashtra Poojan’. The post’s presentation of the footage as recent omits that the documented event was from 2020.
