Interview of a Muslim man who killed four people
Publisher’s rating: FALSE
The review investigated a social-media video presented as an interview with a Muslim man who said he had killed four people. It reports that the video showed a person in a jail-style shirt marked “302,” and that the person in it said he had killed four people. The review’s central finding is that the post did not show a genuine interview with that person: it was a recreated, lip-synced video using audio from an interview with Pakistani convict Abdul Waheed. To trace the footage, the review says reverse-image searches of screenshots produced no relevant results. Searches using combinations of keywords led instead to an interview on Daily AAJ Digital, a YouTube channel belonging to the news outlet Daily AAJ. The review identifies the interview as having been shot at Peshawar central jail and says Waheed explained in the nearly eight-minute clip that he had killed four people with his gun and was punished under section 302. The review says the viral post reused lines from Waheed’s interview, including audio from the interviewer, along with background music. It distinguishes that audio from the video shown in the post: its conclusion is that the post’s video was a recreation rather than a real interview with the person depicted. It also notes that another YouTube video used the same interview audio with different actors, and that the original interviewer, Fida Adeel, later discussed his interaction with Waheed and the interview’s virality.

The case against Gerald Bantag regarding the murder of Percy Lapid has been dismissed
Publisher’s rating: False
Related reporting does not report that the case against Gerald Bantag was dismissed. It says Bantag was ordered arrested in April 2023 in connection with the deaths of journalist Percy Lapid and alleged middleman Jun Villamor, and that police efforts to locate him were ongoing. That account is inconsistent with treating dismissal as an established development, but it does not establish the full current court status or independently rule out a later dismissal.

Video of the Hindu girl who was allegedly murdered and was packed in a suitcase by her Muslim boyfriend
Publisher’s rating: FALSE
The post combined two clips and presented them as a single story: a young woman discussing her relationship with a Muslim man, and police recovering a woman’s body from a suitcase. FACTLY examined whether the woman in the first clip was the deceased woman from the recovery footage, and whether the murder matched the post’s account. The review reports that the recovery footage showed a body found near IFFCO Chowk in Gurugram on 17 October 2022, but says the woman speaking in the other clip was not the deceased woman, Priyanka. The review describes reverse-image searches of screenshots from both clips. For the recovery clip, it found similar visuals in a News 24 video published on 17 October 2022. To check the identity of the woman in the talking-head clip, it compared her with a picture of Priyanka published by Amar Ujala; FACTLY says that comparison showed they were different people. The excerpts do not establish the identity of the woman in the first clip beyond that comparison. FACTLY also reports that Gurugram police arrested Priyanka’s husband, Rahul, on 19 October 2022. It says reports and the accused’s initial interrogation described the killing as following an argument over demands for a TV, mobile phone and other items. The review therefore distinguishes the actual suitcase-body case from the post’s account: the clips did not show the same woman, and the accused identified in the case was Rahul, not the Muslim boyfriend described in the post.

Solo hay 2 feminicidios en Tlaxcala en lo que va de 2022
Publisher’s rating: Falso
The claim concerns the number of femicides in Tlaxcala during 2022. The review says that on November 17, Raúl Sapién, president of the National Council of Private Security, stated in an interview with Periódico de Tlaxcala that the state had recorded only two femicides that year. It says he drew that figure from data published by the Executive Secretariat of the National Public Security System (SESNSP). The review contrasts that official tally with figures from Colectivo Mujer y Utopía (CMyU).
Un mexicano fue “detenido y condenado a 30 latigazos” por introducir alcohol a Qatar 2022.
Publisher’s rating: Falso
The review investigates a specific viral story about the 2022 World Cup in Qatar: that Mexican fan Agustín Jaramillo had been detained for bringing alcohol into the country and would receive 30 lashes in a public square in Doha. It traces the allegation to a Twitter post from November 18, 2022, which said the poster’s brother was being held and faced that punishment. The article reports that the post was a joke, rather than a verified account of an arrest. The review checked the allegation against statements from Mexican officials. The Mexican Foreign Ministry said that Qatari authorities had not made an arrest over the alleged introduction of a bottle of alcohol. Foreign Secretary Marcelo Ebrard also told ESPN that Mexican authorities had not been notified of any investigation or action against the person who went viral. The article distinguishes this official response from a separate video: it shows a young man in a Mexico shirt displaying a bottle on arrival in Qatar, but the review says he was not arrested and had not been sentenced to lashes. To trace the story’s spread, the review examined the original poster’s Twitter timeline and says it found archived posts and replies in which the user acknowledged the claim was false. It also describes the initial post’s connection to a journalist’s tweet about Mexicans breaking rules before the tournament. Taken together, the cited official statements and the poster’s later admission contradict the claimed detention and punishment; the video of the fan with a bottle does not establish either event.
