The review examines Likud MK Shlomo Kar'i's statement in a September 14, 2021, interview on Radio North. He said that under Netanyahu there had been “absolute quiet” and not a single death from terrorism. The review places the remark in a discussion of the then-current government's approach to terrorism and tests it against both Netanyahu's most recent term and his longer tenure as prime minister. It notes that the last Netanyahu-led government held office from May 17, 2020, to June 13, 2021. For that last government, the review points to Israeli deaths during the May 2021 “Guardian of the Walls” operation, and to the killings of Esther Horgen in December 2020 and Rabbi Shay Ohayon in August 2020. It further says that Shin Bet annual summaries recorded Israeli deaths in terrorist attacks in every calendar year since Netanyahu returned to office in 2009. Those examples directly contradict the claim of no deaths across the period, rather than relying on a general impression of how quiet it was. The review also checks a narrower period offered by Kar'i's spokesperson: the year from the killing of Rina Shnerb in August 2019 to August 2020. The cited report said no Israelis had been killed in attacks during that year, but the review explains that it covered only a small portion of Netanyahu's time in office and that attacks and injuries still occurred during it. The review's account therefore distinguishes a limited interval without reported Israeli fatalities from Kar'i's broader assertion of complete quiet throughout Netanyahu's period in government.

আফগানিস্তানের দ্বিতীয় মহিলা পাইলট সাফিয়া ফিরোজীকে পাথর ছুঁড়ে মেরে ফেললো তালিবানিরা
Publisher’s rating: FALSE
The claim says that Safia Firozi, described as Afghanistan’s second female pilot, was stoned to death by the Taliban. The review examined a social-media post that paired a photograph of a bloodied woman with a photograph of a young woman in an aircraft cockpit. Its investigation found that the two images showed different people and did not document the claimed killing. The review describes the post’s allegation as “আজ সকালেই আফগানিস্তানের দ্বিতীয় মহিলা পাইলট সাফিয়া ফিরোজীকে পাথর দিয়ে থেঁতলে মেরে ফেলল তালিবানরা।” (S1) To identify the image of the bloodied woman, the review reports using Google reverse-image search. It says the photograph appeared in material about Farkhunda Malikzada, who was killed by a crowd in Kabul on 19 March 2015 after being wrongly suspected of burning the Quran. The review also cites a 2015 Al Jazeera video about Farkhunda in which the same image appears. This establishes that the graphic photograph was not evidence that Firozi had been attacked. (S1) For the cockpit photograph, the review reports a separate reverse-image search and identifies the woman as Safia Firozi. It says an Associated Press report identified her in a photograph taken when she was appointed, on 21 November 2016, as a pilot of a turboprop aircraft used for military transport. The review concludes that it found no report of Firozi being stoned to death. Taken together, the image identifications show that the post combined a photograph of Farkhunda’s 2015 killing with a separate image of Firozi, rather than depicting the alleged attack on Firozi. FACT CHECK: ISIS සංවිධානයට අයත් Interschool නම් WhatsApp සමූහයක්?
Publisher’s rating: Misleading
The review examined a message circulating on Facebook and WhatsApp that warned of an ISIS-linked group called “Interschool,” claimed that people who joined could not leave, and advised recipients not to join. Its central finding was that the message’s claims were unsupported. The article reports that WhatsApp’s FAQ explained how users could leave a group, and says that a person can leave any WhatsApp group whenever they choose. It also notes that messages shared before leaving remain viewable in the chat history.

Photo of Taliban men wearing burkha and pretending as pro-Taliban Afghan women in a meeting
Publisher’s rating: FALSE
The claim concerns a photo said to show Taliban men wearing burkas and pretending to be pro-Taliban Afghan women at a meeting. FACTLY reports that the image was altered: the underlying photograph showed women gathered at Kabul University, and a man’s face had been added to one of them. To investigate, the review describes using reverse image search. It found similar versions of the image in tweets posted on 11 September 2021, but those versions did not show a man in burka attire. The review also located an original version tweeted that day by TOLO news channel head Lotfullah Najafizada, who described it as showing pro-Taliban women gathered in Kabul. The review further cites an article from Afghanistan-based Khaama news agency. It reported that women from Kabul University had marched in support of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan on 11 September and attended a lecture at the university. The review says about 300 women reportedly attended, following new dress policies imposed by the Taliban government. This account supports the conclusion that the people in the original image were women at the gathering, while the version central to the claim had been manipulated.

APJ Abdul Kalam said, “To curb terrorism in India, madrasas must be banned”
Publisher’s rating: FALSE
The review investigates a social-media post attributing to APJ Abdul Kalam the statement that madrasas must be banned to curb terrorism in India. It says it found no evidence that Kalam made this proposal: the review reports that “There are no news reports that prove Kalam said such a thing” and that it “could not find any evidence from searching online” that he wanted madrasas banned. The review distinguishes the allegation from a documented proposal by someone else. It reports that in early 2019 Waseem Rizvi, then chairman of the Uttar Pradesh Shia Waqf Board, wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi warning about indoctrination in madrasas and advocated a ban to curb ISIS’s influence in India. The review says this may explain the attribution, but emphasizes that the reporting it found concerned Rizvi, not Kalam: “But there are no news reports which state that Abdul Kalam wanted to ban madrasas.” The review also notes that Kalam did speak about countering terrorism, but describes his stated approach differently. It quotes him advocating “a stringent law so that perpetrators of terror attacks are punished in a time-bound manner” and quotes his call for “positive counter-terrorism methods.” The review therefore finds no support for the specific madrasa-ban statement, while separating it from Kalam’s general remarks on combating terrorism.
