Der Klimawandel – nichts als ein natürlicher Vorgang? Alle Warnungen vor weltweiter Erwärmung nichts als Hysterie? Im Internet kursiert eine Veröffentlichung, die diese Theorie bestärkt (hier archiviert). Danach wollen zwei Forscher bewiesen haben, dass eine weitere Klimaerwärmung physikalisch unmöglich ist. Der Grund: Die Atmosphäre sei «gesättigt». Ein Mehr an Klimagasen habe darum keinen wärmenden Einfluss mehr. Im Netz wird das Ergebnis so übersetzt: «Wir können Kohle, Gas und Öl nach Lust und Laune verbrennen, denn der Effekt weiterer CO2-Moleküle auf die Erderwärmung ist fast nicht mehr vorhanden.»
Publisher’s rating: Falsch. Die Annahme beruht auf einem längst bekannten Denkfehler. Zwar sind bestimmte Bereiche der Atmosphäre bereits gesättigt, in anderen nimmt die Konzentration von Treibhausgasen aber weiter zu. Und durch sie auch die globale Erwärmung.
