The claim
This collage shows a Dalit boy beaten for touching a water pot in Rajasthan
Original review summary
FACTLY says the collage is unrelated to the claimed Rajasthan incident: the photos show a 14-year-old boy tortured by his father in Yemen in 2020. It distinguishes those images from reports about a Dalit man beaten in Rajasthan after touching a water pot.[S1]
Additional context
The review says the Rajasthan incident involved Chaman Lal Meghwal, an adult Dalit tractor driver, and occurred in January 2025. [S1]
The review identifies the boy in the collage as 14-year-old Shamikh Rashid Al-Qahili, who was tortured in Yemen’s Mahwit, Al Rajm District. [S1]
