The @CMofKarnataka traditionally hosts a pre-budget dinner for editors. Fair enough. But this year, when the menu reportedly included Royal Salute 21-Year-Old Blended Scotch Whisky (MRP in Bengaluru: ₹15,670 a bottle), one small question arises: Is this where the budget deficit got its early preview? Apparently, before the numbers are served to the public, the premium spirits were served to the editors. Cheers to fiscal transparency, Karnataka style.
