The claim

Rahul Gandhi calling a Sikh minister a 'traitor' is not an isolated remark. It exposes a deep, disturbing continuity in Congress’ attitude towards the Sikh community. Let us not forget history. In 1984, under Rajiv Gandhi's Congress government, thousands of Sikhs were brutally murdered on the streets of India. - Homes were burned. - Families were destroyed. - For decades, justice was denied. The Congress leadership looked away, and shielded the perpetrators. And today, the same party’s leader once again questions the loyalty of a Sikh, this time in Parliament. Lakhs of Sikhs serve with honour in the Indian Armed Forces. They have shed blood for India from 1947 to Kargil and beyond. To brand a Sikh a “traitor” is to insult every Sikh soldier, every martyr, every family that has sacrificed for this nation. A party that failed to protect Sikhs in 1984 now dares to lecture them on patriotism. A leader who inherits privilege without sacrifice questions the loyalty of those who defend India with their lives. India will not accept such insults to its Sikh brothers and sisters. Rahul Gandhi and the Congress party must apologise.
