The claim
Google, NASA, BBC, and CNN have issued warnings advising people to turn off mobile phones and electronic devices and keep them away from their bodies as cosmic rays pass closer to the Earth tonight.
Original review summary
FACTLY found no such warning from the named agencies and says the message has circulated online since at least 2010. The review reports that ISRO said the message was false and that cosmic-ray modulation has no connection to mobile-phone use.[S1]
Additional context
The review says cosmic rays reaching Earth are generally obstructed by the atmosphere and describes their average annual dose as very low. [S1]
