The review says Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority records show Icelandic tourist arrivals dating back to at least 2018, so the group was not the first Icelandic group to visit the country. It reports that the group was instead the first Icelandic tourist group managed by Jetwing Travels, which the agency said explained the ceremonial welcome.[S1]
