The claim
A video warns of a gang of 25 members brutally killing people at midnight.
Original review summary
FACTLY reports that the video combines images from a 24 June 2023 family murder in Mainpuri with audio taken from an unrelated 2019 news report. The review says the audio was clipped and misrepresented as a warning about a gang killing people at midnight.[S1]
Additional context
The review says the 2023 incident involved eight family members being attacked, six of whom died; it reports that the attacker was a family member who shot himself after the murders. [S1]
The review traces the audio to a 2019 video about allegations concerning child kidnapping in Uttar Pradesh, rather than a warning about the murders shown. [S1]
