The claim
トランプ元大統領「日本人が幸せになれないのが不憫でならない」と発言？
Original review summary
The Japanese Fact-Check Center found the claim false: Trump did not make the quoted statement about Japanese people. The viral video combined a FOX News image of Trump discussing COVID-19 with audio from a Liberty University graduation speech; the review says neither source contains remarks about Japan. [S1][S1]
Additional context
The review identifies the FOX News image as a frame from a March 4, 2020, broadcast, and the audio as part of Trump's May 13, 2017, Liberty University graduation speech. [S1] [S1]
